Don't read this by yourself at night!

This was a great read. Unique plot. Unusual characters. I think it would have been good to have read the book before this one where you are introduced to the main protagonists. It felt a little thin in their development in this book. Having said that, you still relate to them and like them and worry for them! I couldn't put it down. My only complaint is the sudden ending. It cuts off far too fast and feels like a contrived 'clever' ending. Such a shame after such a great read. I need to have some of the loose ends tied up! Frustrating!

Engrossing

A fast paced book two of the Lacey Flint mysteries. I think I enjoyed the first book better, however the themes of suicide and depression resonated strongly on a personal level. Brilliantly crafted, I did however get lost in the latter 2/3 of the book, as Bolton read like she was trying to beef up the book when she should've pulled the disparate lines into a tight conclusion. Overall a rollicking good read.
