Plot Summary
Rarely can a film penetrate the glamorous surface of rock legends. It Might Get Loud tells the personal stories, in their own words, of three generations of electric guitar virtuosos – The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), and Jack White (The White Stripes). It reveals how each developed his unique sound and style of playing favorite instruments, guitars both found and invented. Concentrating on the artist's musical rebellion, traveling with him to influential locations, provoking rare discussion as to how and why he writes and plays, this film lets you witness intimate moments and hear new music from each artist. The movie revolves around a day when Jimmy Page, Jack White, and The Edge first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach and play.

Good Insight
This movie takes three different guitar players, a legend, a technical master and one who is on a mission to be true to the roots of rock while pushing it as hard as he can, and gives an overview of each of their journeys to become the musician they are.
It is not meant to be a documentary on the greatest guitar players in the world, it is more about the struggles any musician might go through to find an unique voice.
These three craftsmen showcase different eras, styles and philosophies, but despite this we see that their creative journey to personal success and goals are remarkably similar.
Influential
This movie really opens up the stories behind the legends. i recommend it to any guitarist looking for inspiration, rock fan or just anyone looking for a good documentary. I would have liked to of seen a few more guitarists on here to be honest (john frusciante +Steve vai), But all in all this movie is great (:
Great
This doco is informative. And entertaining.
Jimmy Page shows off his massive guitar and vinyl collection, but when he plays air guitar to a Link Wray song makes you grin. The edge explains the impact of war that it had on u2, and how much he depends on his effects. I don't know but The Edge to me doesn't deserve to be in this film.
You could not say anything that would damage Jack White. The movies shows just how tough he is, and his humourous side.
It is the best doco in my mind. I am a guitar freak and a music junkie, so maybe that weighs a bit on my opinion. But it is enjoyable. Would of been cool if they used one more muso like Josh Homme but it turned out to be a pretty good jam.
