Masterpiece

If you are looking for a graphic gore fest, look somewhere else…

This is by far one of the best Australian films of all time. It is intense, crazily intimidating, brooding and as realistic as everyday life. The casting is spot on and the direction is nothing short of masterful. This movie will haunt me forever. Highly recommended!

Loved it!

I saw this movie while visiting a friend in Darwin. If you love movies that are filmed in a raw, dirty and dark way then this is for you. I will warn you there is a boy/boy rape scene is very disturbing (to say the least) but apart from that its done in a great way (if you can depict a true event thats distubring in its self in a great way?) I just recommend you watch it alone or with a friend.. deffinatly dont rate this one for a family movie or while your eating. I've read the book on Snowtown and I do admit the movie left out a bit, but again I don't blame the directors coz I think you would have people walking out. All in all they did a fantastic job of depicting bogan serial killers!!!

Not Bad, But Could Have Been Better?

Having grown up near Snowtown, South Australia and remembering when this all came out when I was in High School and having read books about it and watched docos I was extremely interested to see this film. The film itself wasn't bad at all, captured well by actor Daniel Henshall as John Bunting with his intense, feared and manipulative manner, the soundtrack to the film suited it well with intense situations but I feel that so much more could have been added to the film that actually happened in the series of events that went on in Snowtown and Adelaide such as how the Police came across the bodies, what tipped them off to suspect Bunting and co to be involved in the murders, Bunting and co accessing the victim's banking accounts, the list goes on...

The film isn't at all gory or blood filled as I expected, but a more psychological fear and really makes you think about what is being said and what is actually happening, which I really liked about this, this is well directed and produced and hats off to the team that created this.

Having read books and watched docos on these events there was so much more that happened that I think should have been included in the film but having said that, this film isn't bad at all and I highly recommend that others with an interest in these events or Australian film lovers in general need to watch.
