Adam Harvey

With a deep, rich voice that settles on the soul like a warm quilt, and two lives' worth of seen it/done it experience to offset his dark-yet-cherubic looks, Adam Harvey has become a fixture on the Aussie country scene, whether he's going it alone or anchoring an all-star collaboration. After fixing up a broken guitar when he was a kid, and memorizing much of his dad's Johnny Cash record collection, Harvey started out on the road that would lead to a premillennial tour with Tania Kernaghan, followed by a bunch of other well-judged country hook-ups, notably "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?" with Beccy Cole, Darren Coggan, and Felicity. Other highlights from his career so far include the Guy Sebastian duet, "Stuck in the Middle" (a Stealers Wheel cover), and classic busted-flat booze ode "Genie in the Bottle" from 2007's I'm Doin' Alright: you can almost feel the hangover when he sings, "The genie in the bottom of the Jim Beam bottle made me do what I didn't wanna do."
