She's got the brains, the strength of character, the laughs, and the tunes — Glenelg's Beccy Cole is the complete country singer-songwriter package, proud owner of an armful of Golden Guitar awards, and best known for her tribute to Aussie soldiers, "Poster Girl (Wrong Side of the World)," inspired by a Middle Eastern trip she undertook to entertain the Diggers. We kick off with that track, and our overview of her career-so-far also includes "Lazy Bones," a slow-grindin', tongue-in-cheek reflection on her short-lived marriage to Mick Albeck (who's played fiddle on her albums); "Storm in a D Cup," a boot-scootin' tune hewn from womanly allure (and jealousy); and the hilarious "Sorry I Asked," which highlights her talents as a country comedienne. Cole is evidently most at home in front of an audience, which is why we've included a fistful of highlights from her excellent 2007 Live @ Lizottes release.
