In five short-but-vital years of existence, the Getaway Plan rose fast out of Sandringham College, Melbourne, to flare brightly across the alt-rock skyline, leaving us with an EP, a handful of singles, and one studio album — Other Voices, Other Rooms — produced in Florida by James Paul Wisner (who has also worked with Dashboard Confessional). The outfit's full volcanic force, and talent for constructing tracks that will, no doubt, stand the test of time, can be experienced to best effect on the towering "Where the City Meets the Sea" and the roman candle-icious "Rhapsody on a Windy Night." A gripping cover of Massive Attack's "Teardrop" exploits the full potential of the modern rock piano (as does "Melophobia") while a live version of "Streetlight" offers a fond reminder of the band at their electrifying best. We've also thrown in the gorgeously sinister "Bones of a Rabbit" by post-break-up project Young Herectics (former frontman Matthew Wright in league with Kitty Hart).
