Episode 34: Community Chest! | Episode 34: Community Chest! {To download right click and hit save as} This week: Community QandA, Asian Pacific Servers, and Speculating about updates past 1.2 Introspective question of the week: What kind of events would you like to see during in game holidays, whether holiday based dungeon bosses to kill or just holiday based mini games, and how should the rewards affect game play. Should those rewards be very meaningful to combat where its almost essential to do the event or should those rewards be chained to the event where its some sort of item or buff that goes away after its done. Be sure to be thinking about that throughout the episode and if you have an opinion on it you’d like to share you can email anchorheadweekly@gmail.com Lets jump on in. This Week In The Republic DarthBelkar: Can we look forward to server-wide special seasonal / short-term events? The answer to which was yes. We will be seeing in game seasonal events coming very soon. This isnt new information, but its really nice to them putting this in the spot light since I am a big fan of in seasonal events, like for instance life day, which i will be deeply disappointed if there are not wookies dressed in red robes standing next to big trees next Christmas. Along with holiday events traditional comes seasonal quests to get special items, which you only get that part of the year. In most MMO you will find the santa claus hat being obtainable. Which I don’t if they will go that far. But I can see them giving out special red colored robes... But what ever form they come in I am all for seasonal events since it give a little break from the normal game and is sort of a chance for the game to get a little more relaxed while still accomplishing some recorgnized in game goal with a reward you can show off. If you listen to the show regularly than you will know how disappointed I was in the lack of speech bubbles in the game. So when I this following question I was really over joyed to see that yes it is the intention to add them to the game. HollowPoint: There has been a large push in the community for chat bubbles, especially with a toggle option for those who don't want them. Is a chat bubble system in the works? If so, when can we expect it to be implemented? Their reply was that they do want to add speech bubbles to the game but that their is some performance issues with how they did it in beta. It’s seems a little ridiculous to me that speech bubbles could cause that big of a problem, but what ever I guess. I haven't been able get most people I see in the game world to see what I’m saying so its good to know that eventually they will be in game. I can’t wait until they are in game. Probably the question that most PvPrs wanted to know is when AFKing the Warzones will be punished somehow. it was replyed they you will be able to kick AFKers, and they will be put on a cool down to reque after being kicked. Very simply solution, works in hand with the current system in place which wasn’t full doing the job since its pretty easy to trick the server into not kicking you. Hard to trick other players. End game gear will be able to have the mods taken out and put into other modable gear. However, the mods will be bound to what ever slot the original gear was. So head mods will go to head mods. This is a great solution I think that really should have been there from the start. Maybe it just got over looked. I dont know. But it will be in there now. I really like these different ways of approaching making your gear custmizable. The TOR the mod system adds a very interesting lvl of complexity to how you can choose to gear up as you level and after you hit end game. It feels a lot more like its part of the game world rather than just being some system whree you just set one item to look like another. Asia pacific servers will be going live March 1st, 2012, which is just next week. Players who where waiting to buy the game from a local ret | 21 2 12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 32: Late Night With Palopit Mockingbird! (AKA The One Recorded At 1:30am) | Episode 32: Late Night With Palopit Mockingbird! (AKA The One Recorded at 1:30am) [To download simply right click the link and hit "Save as...) Howdy! This week is all about the future, and some stuff that happened last week, but still that stuff points to the future! Talking about the fancy new feature with patch 1.1, and speculating (more of a wish list) of things we might see after the latest video update from SWTOR.com This Week In The Republic Founder’s titles have are being given to anyone who purchases a subscription before march 18. So yeah! I can now be Founder Palopit Mockingbird! This week in the republic patch 1.1 hit, bringing with its a whole batch of bug fixes, nerfs, buffs, and fancy new features as well as its own batch of new problems. There’s been a lot of mixed opinions on patch 1.1, many of them very negative commenting on how after the patch the game no longer seems to work for them, or the games performance has dramatically decreased. While I havn’t really seen a blanket answer that folks have been given, but many people seem to be affected by the addition of anti-aliasing into the game. Anti-aliasing being a very demanding process which is used to make rough edges of 3d objects much smoother. While an okay gaming computer should be able to use anti-aliasing with out being unable to play the game, its very possible that average computers or some older computers just arn’t able to make the game playable with anti-aliasing on. Obviously like I said theres a good chance that anti-aliasing has nothing to do with most of the problems people are experiencing as far as performance issues go. But I having a feeling that the case is most people are experiencing performance drops mainly do to this, I’ve seen on the forums that devs are telling people if your experiencing a drop in FPS than to make sure anti-aliasing is off, cause that might be your problem. If you like smooth edges, lowering shadows or textures can help alot. Or turning off Bloom is perhaps the greatest preformance increase I’ve seen, but that seems to have its own host of issues when off. Positive note since I’ve been focusing on the negative a bit here, its nice to see them adding in more graphics options. As a matter of fact its kind of cool that there is a noticable pattern of them trying to get core features to the point where they don’t have to worry about them so much, so that they can build on top of those features. Its definitely a strategy of development that really none of us are familiar with, or at least its a part of development that always happens but we typically do not find our selves in this kind of situation. Where while we are playing the official live version of the game, things that we are used to being in the game at launch like very indepth graphics options or custimzation of the UI/addon support are not present only because they want to make sure everything meshes together far better than just throwing it all in once and fixing 10,000 bugs at once rather than just the 1,000 per new addition to the game. Numbers are probably not accurate. Obviously there are loads of features in the game built on top of the core features already, but its not as many as I’m sure many of us might have expected since some of what we might consider to be core features are not present, though i’m sure everything we are saying needs to be there will be there relatively soon, as inwithin a major patch or two. If we have to wait a year for speech bubbles and addons than thats a bit too long of a wait though So far i think they’ve done a great job, I enjoy the heck out of this game. as far as MMO goes this game stands out as really bringing out the RPG elements of an MMO. I’m sure they’ll find the right balance between releasing features that people feel are integral vs how pratical it really is to release certain features at the instant people are requesting them. I like anti-aliasing game looks great, haven't experien | 27 1 12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 31: Palopit, The Patch Note Pirate! | Episode 31: Palopit, The Patch Note Pirate [to download right click the link and hit "save as" Patch Notes Galore this week on AWP This Week In The Republic Patch notes and patch 1.1 are the Public Test Server, or PTS as it shall be known hence forth. Out of all the nerfs and buff and bug fixes here is what caught my eye: You can expect enemies in flash points to drop credits more frequently Who doesn’t like more money. I did notice when doing flashpoints that it seemed like not as much loot as I expect, although I come from world of warcraft where every mob drops something, whether it be a paw or two something is going to drop! the new flash point and raid bosses. As we heard after launch this content was going to start flying in, and I can’t wait to see what’s all about once I get there. Its interesting to see their plan to cater to end game very early on and it really shows how MMOs have progressed from the early grand fathers where you could argue that the game wasn’t so much a game as much as it was just immersing yourself in another world compared to now where that idea of using immersion to make things like competition and team work feel a little bit more natural in the MMO, if that make sense. I’m sure that as time goes on well see MMOs that are all end game. But in this case its very cool to see Bioware throwing those who might be worried about end game a bone saying essentially that they want to cater to you guys. Anti-aliasing is now available I’m excited about probably more than anything just about anything not only because I am a big fan of anti-aliasing but also because it points to future graphics options that will allow for probably both higher settings and lower/medium. At the moment its pretty much high or low settings with really no options in the middle so it will be exciting to see what they do with graphics options Thing I would have liked to see, perhaps not in this patch but eventually down the road. Chat bubbles, this one I think should have been in at launch. I am a bit baffled with this one and its really my only complaint in the game. I like chat bubbles, I use chat bubbles to discern from whats being said from the guy next to me versus everyone in who might be a in 20 yard radius. Furthermore, it makes communicating about 1,000 times, whether you find your self needing to ask a quick question in the middle of battle where people are most likely focusing on the fight and not chat or just someone is zoned out while playing the game and doesn’t notice the chat. Chat Bubbles where for art thou! I’m iffy about this one but, A Flash point que similar to the PvP que and que for the flash point would allow you to que up and be put into a random group to do a flash point. Sounds perfect right? Well if you think it does thats okay since you represent a sizable portion of the community. I have no doubt in time this will be implemented, but I do hope they go the extra mile to making it something unique and not just a copy of the system in place in WoW. I have no clue how, but the shift that occurs in the community when all of a sudden your potential success in PvE is not bound to others on your server is interesting. As a matter of fact, the que makes it so that way your success is pretty much bound only to your ability not to p**s off other players so that they don’t kick you from the group, don’t kicked enough times and you can gear up. Though to be fair it is a great system for players without the time or the desire to be doing PvE on a regular basis. And its not like those who depend on ques are going to be ousting the hardcore players from their thrones so it is for that reason that I’d eventually like, and expect, to see a que. Guild bank This again is a very basic feature I’m surprise not already in the game. I’ve seen on the forums that perhaps we can expect this in the game at this patch but as of now I don’t see anything to indicate that | 12 1 12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 30: New Game, New Year, New Tech, Same Old Palopit | Episode 30: New Game, New Year, New Tech, Same Old Palopit [To download right click and hit save as... or go to Itunes and download this episode] Lame Theme Song, Patch Notes, Sound Effects, And A missing guest! A great episode to kick of the new year! This Week In The Republic This week in the republic, Bioware has gone out and banned accounts for gold farming. Anyone who has played any MMO knows that gold farmers run rampant threw the genre, and are nearly unstoppable because once you ban the account they have made more than enough money to open up several others and continue on their operation. In a dev post by Stephen Reid, Reid explains that the accounts where banned for a breach of the terms of service. Reid addresses another similar issue where a smaller number of accounts were warned or temporarily suspended for exploiting loot containers on Ilum, he makes it clear that this action was taken not for normal game play bur rather the accounts “where systematically and repeatedly looting containers in very high numbers resulting in the game economy becoming unbalanced.” The rest of the post is Reid defending the Terms of Service team, yada yada. I under stand the banning of gold farmers, I have no issue with that. Giving out warnings or suspensions for exploits seems a little far for me. Players strive to exploit the game, its part of the fun for some people. If someone can find a little niche they might feel compelled to take advantage of it simply because they can and the assumption is that eventually it will be fixed and that will be end of that. I don’t see why the reaction was against the players exploiting the game while as the developers should have just found a way to prevent this exploit from happening again. If it had a bigger impact on the game than sure perhaps than this reaction would have necessary but I think for just making extra money on the players part it was a little much. Though I can understand their reasoning behind perhaps wanting to make an example of exploiters now just to perhaps make people think about it twice in the future. Or perhaps they feel now is such a delicate time in the game where to the average player everything must seem as pristine as possible and an horrible in game economy might mess up that experience for many players. Its also interesting how defensive the post seems to be. Not sure how interpret that, but I’m sure there was quite the negative out cry against bioware when these actions where taken. They are probably trying to make sure they seem as transparent as possible. On top of that exploits are cheating, but it’s a video game, cut them some slack. All in all its not too big of a deal, except for the guys who got suspended. As for the gold farmers, good job Bioware. Hopefully you guys will figure out what no one else in the MMO market can, how to stop gold farmers all together. Also this week in The Republic Last Tuesday was a mini patch day, where one nerf in particular tore me at my very being. The rewards from slicing where reduced to bring them into balance with other skills. Slicing had honestly been my bread and butter, and still is by far my favorite crew skill since you just send your companion to go bring you back suit cases full of credits and bring back all sorts of goodies, and I noticed a little dip in what I was getting back after last Tuesday. Keep in mind I’ve been grinding slicing so perhaps my experience with the amount of rewards I was getting was different since I was just getting so much stuff before, while as now I get a decent amount of stuff but I have noticed a dip. None the less its still my favorite crew skill so far since its doesn’t require you to do much for a lot of rewards. Also from last weeks patch, the reward for winning warzones was increased, and the reward for completion was decreased. I can give testament to this one as well. I’ve noticed a little increase. This is an interesting change, because it shows an atte | 4 1 12 | Free | View In iTunes |

I played through the counselor and imperial sneaky guy so far, so will just talk about the similarities between them and all that kind of stuff. Saving the smuggler for launch, which I have been told just go for it, but I figured waited this long to play the game ill let it be a surprise. Mainly what I’ll be talking about today, so hooray! And in case you don’t know, you are no longer bound by the NDA that doesn’t let you talk about or display screen shots and videos of your time in game, so woo hoo. Episode 27: Halloween Special… | Episode 27: Halloween Special (Right click and hit save as to download this episode) This Week In The Republic Flare gun, just a cosmetic device. Assuming that means its equipable, and allows your to shoot in the air. Star Wars Galaxies pretty much had the exact same thing, and it was pretty cool. Always fun to make new players think their being forced into PvP. Training droid. A nifty combat pet, doesn’t sound like a companion, but it might function like one. I can’t imagine them giving you an extra companion, no matter how functionless it might me. I’m guessing it will just be a thing where it follows you around like a non-combat pet but attacks thing. It also highlights enemy targets, don’t know if other players can see this who are in your party. If you could use it to show other players your target it could be very useful for tanking. OTherwise, its always nice to know in PvP situations who is a freind and who is a foe a little bit eisier. Holodancer. This one is pretty straight forward, just choose where you want to place a holo dancer and she will dance for you. Props like this are always fun for setting the stage for role play or even just for when your hanging out with your freinds and are bored. Note, it syas almost any time. Probably means not in combat, not in warzones. Don’t know if that means its restricted to the world only, and not inside of flash points. Or if it means only outdoors. I have a feeling its going to be restricted to mainly only not being summonable in combat. Holocam. This is probably the coolest of all the items you get because it acctually serves a function. It allows you take screenshots, it might be just a thing where it allows your to use the holocam and have a camra UI rather then just turning of you UI, zooming all the way in ect, or if this means that it will actually allow you to take pictures that you can show to other players in game. If it allows you show off pictures in game that would be very very cool. I have a feeling that eventually holocams will be accesbile without the digital delux or special editions just because its a pretty sweet feature, and it would make a cool craftible item. But for now at least it is limited to only thsoe with the digital delux or collectors edition. and the STAP, just a mount that will not cost anything that you can obtain when you hit the proper level for riding mounts. It says unique skinned, which i believe means folks with the normal version of the game can obtain this mount through other means whether you have to but it, or earn it, or it drops. But it will not be as easy to get as for those with special editions of the game and it will have a different, possibly not as cool or even cooler skin. The mouse droid, or as we like to call it around here... the rat droid because it is undeserving of the level of cuteness that a mouse droid has., will have the same sounds as your episode 4-6 mouse droid, but look a bit different in case you havn’t seen it yet.. Its just a pet The collectors store is probably the biggest prize in game form the collectors edition because it gives you access to apparently unique companion skins, unqie social items, and all sorts of other goodies only obtainable from it. Furthermore, it will be updated with new items. I’m sure this is just me being jelouse of those who got the special edition while there where still some for sale, but I don’t like it *laugh* No, its okay i guess. Their paying way more then im willing to for a video game, i had a hard time convincing my self that the digital delux was worth it since i just get the same game as those with the normal game. Then there is all the cool stuff not in game like the soundtrack and the malgus statue. Which i’ve heard that some people are selling theirs to pay off the game... smart move, very smart. Wish i thought of that and bought the collectors edition now. Something also to note from this information regarding the in game items for | 27 10 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 25: Special Edition, Director’s Cut | Episode 25: Special Edition, Director's Cut [To download, right click and hit save as] We got information regarding a Beta Testing weekend this week! Form the 7th to the 10th Just got htis info as I was writing this episode The official update at SWTOR.com wasn’t too big, just a new 3d map, which is cool because if you havn;t gotten a beta invite you can kind o feel like your playing for a little bit. More on that later Also accidental emails that went out a few weeks ago, big deal, not really, but it was followed with real informtion regarding beta invites. Also just going to be talking a few cool things that have been going around the Old Republic. This Week In The Republic! This week in the republic as I mentioned there was an official update SWTOR.com which was a neet galaxy map which I had fun messing around with for a few hours. I seriously need a beta invite... Besides wowing us with a 3-d environment within a web browser, and proving that runescape needs to step it up alittle, this map may give a few little hints into the game. I have no doubt a map like this will be in the game! Go to your star ships hyper drive map like if you played KOTOR 1 or 2, and you had all the planets you could choose to go to, it looked a lot like that. There was also 3d models of every playable ship which I found to be really neat. And i just kept looking at each one spinning it around. It was really cool. Its a neat little update. Even better than that! Beta testing weekend once again, this time bigger then before! Bioware said on the SWTOR forums that this one is the biggest yet, and will last from the 7th to the 10th of October. If you havn’t gotten into this one, like me, then not to fret because more are coming. This is great news because it really is starting to show that they are rapping up production, I seriously can’t wait to play this game. I want to play Beta just so i can see it, this thingy that I’ve been talking about for almost 2 years. But alas, even if I never get into beta it will make the official launch all the better. So if your like me and probably the vast majority of people waiting for the game who haven't tested, keep your chin up. Well be in there for real soon. Also this week there was some news from a showing of the game in France, where french players got to play the game for a little bit. Some neat information from there, including them saying each class will get more then 5 companions, their was alot of cool questions asked about narshada and Huttball. Interview thanks to guild Chimaera Some tidbits from that interview Ilum story is a bit more complex then it seems at first. The sith arn’t just their for the light saber crystals, but rather the crystals have the potential to be very powerful in ships. The republic may or not be aware of this intention fully Nar Shada has an older Las Vegas feel to it. More like something you’d see them going to Good Fellas, or any other Mobster movies. I don’t remember if they went to Las Vegas in good fellas, but it seemed like an appropriate metaphor. Hutt Ball is the result of a Hutts fascination with death sports. Nar Shada is run by very very powerful hutts, and these hutts become so powerful they just use their money to pursue what ever life style they desire. In the creator of Hutt Balls case, watching people die in gladiator style combat. When they said you will have access to 5 types of companions they did not mean you will be limited to 5, but that you will have at least one of each role. Their will be many companions to collect! Gotta catch em all! Other then that its really all be about beta testing. Lots of cool info about beta testing. Following those accidental emails that where sent out they sent out an official apology email which stated that their would be beta testing for real. This is cool, i don’t think an apology email was really necessairy but its nice to know that they don’t want to leave anyone feeling they got lied to in s | 6 10 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

To download, right click “the link” and hit “Save Link As…” [Internet Explorer Users Simply Have to Click Hey folks! I am Caleb Delaurentis, also known as Palopit around the forums, web, and soon in game! Your listening to episode 24 of the Anchorhead weekly podcast. The first episode to immediately follow the previous episode in quite some time. I was looking at all my episode dates and the time elaspased between each one is anything but weekly, but living up to the name this week! Because this week Bioware nuked us with probably the biggest news of the entire game! If you havn’t heard this yet, i first thank you for choosing the anchorhead weekly podcast as your only source of news and information on the old republic, and secoundly i condem you for somehow missing the explosion on the internet that was the release date of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Also to discuss this week we have Companion characters, how we get to customize them, hurray! This is another juicy bit of info. This information has been known for some time but its nice to see it nicely written out on the official site for all to see. Even some finer details are explained. Even got another video that went into some of the details for story including the the little jawa companion known as Bliz! This Week In The Republic! Biggest news of the week was of course the release date of Star Wars The Old Republic! Coming out December, 20th, 2011! Right on the border line between an acceptible release date and too late. This news coming the a few days after i recorded my last podcast... figures... But none the less. This date is way further down the road then i anticipated since i expected next month or even november, but no way that close to christmas. But this is pretty good since it means that folks will be able to get it in their stockings and those of us that pre-ordered will be able to play it a few weeks before the holidays start. Get out SWTOR fixes a little early so it doesn’t hurt so bad when we can’t play during Xmas eve and Xmas and new years. This news is very refreshing since it really just changes the whole SWTOR community. We are reaching end of the walk to the starting line! It seems that fan sites are getting even more reved up then ever, guilds seem to be working hard for that last push to prepare for the launch. Even the grinch has postponed his plans to steal Christmas due to the fact that that would take away precious hours of his pre-launch play time. He wants to be ahead of all those whos in whoville who are foolishly waiting to preorder. DONT be like the whos, if you have not preordered pre order now. Because as a side effect of this release date preorders are no doubt going through the roof even more then they had. Those who where holding out lest the game be announced to come out next year are now hurridly pre-ordering the game. Even digital sales have been limited by Bioware, so don’t wait too late and then have to wait for a few weeks while you hear all the great things about the prelaunch game. And then youll have to go to a target or something, might have to kill a few people just to get your hands on the last copy of the game in the store. its a mess, don’t do it! Preorder now. Moving on... Companions! For the longest time now it seems they have been sidestepping questions and information regarding companions, most likely because they wanted to build up suspense and they probably where not sure if their goals where really practicle. But it seems that indeed they where able to acheive the level of companions they have been talking about what seems forever. I don’t think it was forever since i can remmber recording the podcast where we got one of the first big announcements regarding companions. But none the less! Companion information is now spewing out of the ingenious nose of bioware, and we are the booger hungry hanker chief | 29 9 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

I’m Your host Caleb DeLaurentis AKA as Palopit on the forums and soon in game, this is Episode 20, and this week we are going to be be discussing the esseless! Also going to be going back to 2 weeks ago and clearing up some information that I did kind of get wrong. Only kind of. In case you havn’t noticed not the usual theme music, I don’t have itunes and all the stuff i ussually do, so im ruffing it on my old laptop, with my microphone covered by a sock, using a cup as a mic stand. The podcasting equivelent to being stuck in the middle of the woods with old the shirt on your back and large, well equiped backback. This week we got a studio insider on combat animations, and some really nice information from the Q and A at the end. Its been a month since PAX though so your all probably sick of hearing about it. So starting fresh, kind of! Kind of like season 3 if you want to think of it like that, since there has been a long pause in between the first batch of episodes and this one. Lets Jump In! This Week In The Republic! It is from my experience that studio insiders seem to follow up periods of immense revealings due to the fact their out of stuff to reveal, none the less they can be pretty cool. Most of this stuff isn’t really something you couldn’t guess how it works, or just assume they put a lot of work into it, but its good to give folks credit and making it known. Furthermore, animations are closely tied to into combat. How they approach to do their animations will directly influecne how we as players fight NPCs and each other. The biggest thing we can take from this in reference to combat is that its going to be very dynamic. Since i have yet to play the game *grumble* I can’t be sure, but from videos i have seen and this desicrpition Im getting the picture they are taking a step away from what essentially has become the World of Warcraft approach, which you will find in most MMOs. Click an attack, if it instant hurray, if it has a cast time wait for the cast time while you character does their little chanelling animation away goes your cast click another button. They make it sound a bit more dynamic, perhaps something closer to age of conan’s combat system which is a very interresting spin on the standard MMO combat system, its not so much locked into push button attack push button attack rebuff your self attack, but feels a little closer to a combat system you would get from a consol system. While I’m not sure 100% but it does sound as though this is they type of slightly more real time, not all about attack rotation but a little more focused on thinking on your feet. That being said it still an MMO and it will still probably pull from the core concepts of MMO combat that have rulled how we play MMOs for quite some time, but I expect their to be a bit more of an attempt to leave the cookie cutter model for combat in MMOs. In case you are wondering, i just spoke about 3000 times more vaguely then they do when discusssing mechanics before the launch of a game :p. The Q and A Some really interresting stuff, and some stuff im not so interrested in, like how to do you stop greifers. Answer should be you don’t. Its not really a punishment making a greifer a target to killed as a punishment since, as having some experience in being the greifer and greifey, its ussually about being bored and just wanting to spice up your life for a few seconds. By making a greifers game a billion more times exciting for killing a low level its not solving much. More like a badge of honor, I killed a bunch of low levels! I dare someone to come kill me now! But i digress (i think that is how you use the word) They essentially said in response to the arena team questions, there will be teams but no organized tournaments at launch. Which really makes sense. They should wait | 21 9 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 22: Firey Hutt Balls Ft. Dahaka From Nothing But Tor | Episode 22: Firey Hutt Balls Ft. Dahaka From Nothing But Tor * Hey folks! I’m Your host Caleb DeLaurentis AKA as Palopit on the forums and soon in game, this is Episode 22. I’m back from fishing in Canada and waging war on beavers, Joined this week with a guest host Dahaka from the podcast and fan site 'Nothing but TOR'. Howdy Do... *talking ensues i think* * This week we are talking about Hutt Ball, the newly announced war zone that kind of like a combination of foot ball, capture the flag and fire. * Also SWTOR at PAX, going to be speculating a wee bit on what they might reveal there, (pretty much a wish list of things I’d wish they say because i have no clue O.o) * Alrighty, lets jump in. This Week In The Republic * Hutt Ball o Hutt ball is a simple game where you a get a ball to the other side of a field, while killing the other team, avoiding traps, eating nachos, smelling roses, and listening to your favorite death metal band. o Its kind of a creative twist on the usual capture the flag, You capture the ball and run it to an objective score a point, this warzone shines is that its appears they tried to make the game a little more encouraging of team work for both the those with the ball and without. + In a traditional capture the flag game you’ll find that most people are trying to get the flag for themselves first to get what ever special bonus points you get for capturing the flag successfully, and then everyone else kind of half heatedly protects the guy on the their team with the flag because they want to win. + Also the side trying to kill the guy with their flag will focus only on the guy with the flag, so you pretty much wind up with the whole game being focused on 1 or 2 guys and everyone else just kind of being their for support. # If Hutt Ball looks like what I think it looks like then the game should involve a little more sharing of the focus of the game, in that you have to watch where the side with the balls team mates are, since they can pass the ball to their team mates yada yada yada yada # Traps are cool too. Speculation Station * What where going to see at PAX, pretty much wish list wish list of things o Thanks for listening! o If you want to send in a comment or question about The Old Republic, for my opinion on your opinion, please send an email to palopit@gmail.com with it written, or with a prerecorded MP3 attachment with you verbally saying question or comment. o Questions and comments will be played or read on the show and answered! o Follow at twitter.com/anchorhead o email is anchorheadweekly@gmail.com o Also if your a user of google plus you can just look up Caleb DeLaurentis and i believe i might come up, im the guy with long hair and the banjo. o This episode and all others at anchorhead.org o Proud member of the Torsyndicate! o and happy to be broadcasted on Bootleg Radio Station which is sponsored by Tormonger.com, your go to site for TOR videos and theory craft. o Itunes! Leave a review if you so desire! o See you all next week! | 25 8 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 20: Nothing Less Than The Best…elles | Episode 20: Nothing Less Then The Best...ellesTo download right click the link and hit “save link as” Hey folks! I’m Your host Caleb DeLaurentis AKA as Palopit on the forums and soon in game, this is Episode 20, and this week we are going to be be discussing the esseless! Also going to be going back to 2 weeks ago and clearing up some information that I did kind of get wrong. Only kind of. before we jump in, a bit of news about the show. The Anchorhead Weekly Podcast now airs on Bootleg radio on Wednesday at 6pm ET, I think its Eastern Time, probably is. So shows will be appearing there first and then on Itunes and the blog a few hours a later. You can also catch it on reruns there, as the shows loop or something like that. So! Go on down to Bootleg Radio and listen in to this show and many other great shows 3) This Week In The Republic THE ESSELESS! This is a flash point which they teased us with a long long time ago when they first introduced flash points. THey didn’t go into it too much, but it makes sense that they might spoil a good portion of the story with this one because it low level and we have already seen a portion of it. When i first saw it a while back I thought it was a mid level flash point, but it seems that its really low level. Level 9 the guy said, so if your looking to get a buddy to run you to level 50, heres where your going to start :P Probably the most interresting thing about it is that the choice they showed the team make in whether or not to kill the egineers was surprisingly evil. It may have just been me but all this time as they have been saying, o ya, Republic can be evil and sith can be good I thought it was going to be little things like, a jedi falling in love which is kind of evil or a sith sparing people lives which is kind of good but in this Flash Point you see a bunch of republic members flush innocent egineers out of an air lock rather then finding the alternitive. Thats completely evil, and even more the characters justified it for themselves in the voice part of the story to make themselves feel good. They still got dark side points though. I find this interesting because its probably purposeful to show that just because your on one faction your choices are not limited. You can be the hippy peace loving sith inquistor that you’ve always wanted to be. This was just very surprising to me that they are really freeing the players to make their toon who they want them to be. ANother big thing was that all players got dark side points for the decision of one. So bring freinds with you who are going to be like you. Little tid-bits The Trooper changed amo types, maybe meaning that ranged weapons will require amo. theres an advantage to winning talking rolls because you get a little bit of exp. Okay now to clean up some of the stuff I said last episode about the rewards from the different game versions The special in game vendor will not be accessible from anywhere like i said it might be since that would be a real advantage. But instead it looks like theirs going to be VIP lounges (which i kind of guessed) and their these guys will be. However, those lounges will probably be really lonely. the color changing crystal for weps only turns your weapon gold. So i don’t have to keep trying to figure out different colors to say on the show. the mouse droid is still a rat driod in my opinion, not very cute at all. 4) Speculation Station This week I had a hard time figuring out what to speculate on, and so I thought why not speculate on a dungeon finder system, if it will be in their at launch, probably not since no one ever seems to want to put these things in at launch. They want to get the game out their and fix the real glitches before tackling the monster of connecting servers in order to implement this system. THe amount of variables like where do we put the players server wise. Do we choose one | 4 8 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 19: Return of The Podcaster (I know, so original) | Episode 19: Return of the Podcaster (I know, so original)To download right click the link and hit “save link as” Howdy do, been a while since the last show all the way back in April! But I am back getting back into the weekly schedule! Today's show is going to be a shorty since its just me jumping back in, this week nothing too big happened... just pre-orders for the game going being officially sold! Also this week is comic-con and it we got a neat trailer from comic con, but won’t be talking about that too much since i think pre-orders is going to take a nice amount of time Lets jump in! This Week In The Republic Bumper Pre-orders of Star Wars: The Old Republic finally out there to be bought! And along with these pre-orders are price ranges as well as varying goodies with each one :) If you where planning on buying TOR you have four choices If you want a physical copy of your TOR your going to have to buy either the standard version for $60, or the super mega collectors edition box thingy for $150. If your into digital downloads since they seem to be the way of the future then you have to choose from the standard digital version, for $59.99 or the Digital Deluxe version for $79.99 As is the trend with pre-ordering video games you get a little goody bag with your purchase depending on how much money you want to throw at the game. All versions get the color stone, that lets you change the colors of your weapons laser bolts or light saber. As one would assume if your going to pay more you get more, and in this case you get a heck of a lot more then i imagined you would get with the collectors edition. Granted I’ve never heard of a $150 collectors edition, but apparently they priced it right because those puppies are sold out from the EA online store. I believe that you can still buy them from various retailers. Episode 18: The Advanced 1 Year Mark Ft. Lordhammer | Episode 18: The Advanced 1 Year Mark Ft. Lordhammer To download right click the link and hit “save link as” Hey folks! Episode 18 is here! It has been 1 year since the very first episode where the mic cracked more then my voice :P. But here we are 1 year later, first interview on the show with Lordhammer about his experiences at PAX east and advanced classes. This Week In The Republic Going to start with the fist update this week. Which was the PAX East 2011 Highlight Video Showed how fun it was to be there But I can’t get over the funny walking in the beginning More Advanced Advanced Class Information This week we learned a great deal more about advanced class skill trees Little thing that I was interested in first was that apparently there are Advanced class NPC trainers and just normal class trainers. I’ve always found stuff like that In games fun, so that's my favorite bit of news out of all of this :P From one picture it shows a standard 3 tree spec sheet But from what they made it sound like you may get 3 trees per advanced class? What it may show is that you have three tree on your spec sheet one being the general class tree, the 2 others being the advanced classes. But I’m fairly sure they are saying 3 trees per AC and I’m going to proceed assuming this as a truth :P Gave us examples of things that I’m assuming are a little more along the road of development to show us that beta testing is helping, i guess? Bounty Hunter ACs share the Advanced Prototype tree and then I assume have two of their own. The Mercenary AC for Bounty Hunters allows for healing and DPSing capabilities Different example is Imperial agent who in one tree can only do DPS but apparently its more tuned to PvP while as its other tree allows for healing and DPSing. Lots of stuff like that from all of this ACs are far more complicated then I earlier assumed and add a lot more depth. Essentially it sounds as though u get 2 separate classes with their own spec sheets for each AC Speculation Station So with this news on Advanced Classes being far more then I earlier anticipated I’m beginning to come up with a better idea of how classes will work in TOR. My speculation for this week is small and may not be really speculation but from what I can tell since Advanced classes are unlocked at level 10, the standard for when talent trees are unlocked, you will have 5 separate trees, each AC have 2 separate trees and then sharing 1 common tree. I don’t think there will be just a general class spec sheet, but the shared tree between the two ACs may work as a general class tree. Episode 17: From Padawan to Jedi in 2 Minutes 20 seconds | Episode 17: From Padawan to Knight in 2 minutes To download right click the link and hit "save link as" Hey Folks! Episode 17 here! Coming on the 1 year aniversary of the podcast rather fast, hopefully going to have a special episode for it. But none the less, Guilds, Flash Points, and Jedi Knight Gear Progression where the talk of the town this week! ”This Week In The Republic” A short video on the metamorphosis of a Jedi Knight from a young padawan to a guy with a hood and two light sabers. i think they have been puking so much info out at us the past few weeks that they want to slow it down a bit so they give us practically nothing this week A few things to note was the gear progression as the character advanced. Obviously this was only a taste but it all looked very true to what I think players want their Jedi to look like. Armor robes, they seem to be sticking true to their concepts and pulling it off fairly well. I personally preferred the Sentinals whole sneaky guy with hood and throwing sith over edge thing. One thing to also note is the weapon progression, it looks like they have put alot of thought into how our weapons will not only get more powerful but also how the style of the weapons will display that power, not a new idea to video games, just nice to know that I’ll be using a practice blade then move way up to beginner light sabers and so on and so on. Learned nothing really other then the armor looks pretty cool at high levels There was Q and A after the Studio Insider for Animations The Animations thing was interesting, worth checking out but the Q and A was the really meat and potatoes “Speculation Station” So all those predictions of when the game is coming out being this spring seem to have been proven false. At PAX nothing was really mentioned of the game coming out soon Most forcasts at the moment are not looking good for when the game is coming out So I’d have to say there’s a good chance we are in for another year. I think a great goal would be shoot for December of this year. But if i had to make a random guess it would be December of 2011, we could get our life day celebrations going to welcome us all into the game, it would be most excellent. PAX east just around the corner! With all starter zones available to try, this could indicate that the games launch is almost here! The new book Deceit by Paul S. Kemp is being sold soon! Follow the story of Darth Malgus and his rise to power! Speculation Station o With PAX east just around the corner with more demo content the ever before and with this sudden rumor sprouting from what i believe is the amazon.com for Europe saying that TOR is coming out at the end of March for preorder, can we believe that we may finally be able to play TOR with in the month, or at least with before the end of Spring? Lore Junkies In the show I mentioned that the companion Mako is drawn to the bounty hunter code. I wanted to quickly talk about all the rules and how you might best RP a bounty hunter who wants to either follow, or go against all those rules. Episode 15: Flash Points, Looking Fancy (I Meen Great By That) | Heyo! It was great to be podcasting again today, felt good catching up on SWTOR and letting it all poor on out on today's podcast. Actually, I focused only on Flash Points this week. Also, I won't be able to make a podcast next week, however, I'll be back two weeks from now once again and hopefully every week after that for a good while. [audio=http://the-blessed.net/theblessed/The%20Anchorhead%20Weekly%20Podcast/episode%2015.mp3,Episode 15: Flash Points, Looking Fancy (I Meen Great By That),download] To download, right click “download” and hit “Save Link As…” [Internet Explorer Users Simply Have to Click On "Download"] Pretty much flash points are instances. They have said they want to avoid the gear grind that comes with instances and dungeons, I'm not sure how this is supposed to work, but they will be focused around completing a story rather then a few boss kills for gear. The major problem I can see is that they seem to be avoiding the major purpose of an instance, or flash point, and that's the point is to give you gear! Sure its a "glorified loot machine", but in truth that's part of the game, getting rare loot from a dungeon that few people in the game may have. THOUGH, before you discredit me as a SWTOR Flash Point basher, i can see some light at the end of tunnel. I find it no coincidence that flash points have been announced very close to the announcement of crafting. Perhaps what they are looking to do is recreate a older idea of MMO gearing system emphasizing crafting endgame gear and leaving loot drops as something special for those extra highlights. Either way I see this as a great system, I'm sure its got its kinks to work out but so far the whole scheme of it seems pretty well planned out. I can't wait to get into these flash points and start PUGing my little heart out :D. If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorhead. Episode 14: Crafting and War, What Else Does One Need? | Heyo! A little short episode this week, but covered lots of info! Mainly talked about crafting *salivates at mouth*. Also talked about the instanced PvP they announced. To download, right click “download” and hit “Save Link As…” [Internet Explorer Users Simply Have to Click On "Download"][audio=http://the-blessed.net/theblessed/The%20Anchorhead%20Weekly%20Podcast/Episode%2014.mp3,Episode 14,download] Episode 14: Crafting and War, What Else Does One Need? The instanced PvP looks like your average instanced PvP, but with a nice Star Wars cover. It looks as though they are trying to fix one major problem in Instanced PvP, or Warzones as they call them, which is that there is a lack of leadership when trying to complete goal. How do you fix this? Well, have a voice telling everyone what to do! The Alderan warzone looks great, and while the characters animations still might need a little bit more work, I have no doubt we will have having a blast in there. Didn't think about this during the show, but those animations may look choppy because they aren't scripted like we will see in PvE battles. It's literally two different people using their moves on each other, I have no clue how you script that, but we will see. They will find a way! This Sith Inquisitor eagerly deploys lethal force to secure a turret control station and move the Empire one step closer to victory. Crafting is what I really wanted to focus on, and especially on a few key points. One being that if they choose to make us dependent on crafting that means that how we look at instances and raids will be far different then just ways to obtain better gear. If they choose to make crafters vital to our gameplay then raids and instances will definitely be all about story and not so much about gear. However, its somewhat unlikely that crafters will be that vital to gameplay, and its more likely that crafting will either work as an alternate to gear drops, or work as a competitor to gear drops. Its hard to say, its likely that some armor will be obtainable only through a crafter with a rare schematic, and having that schematic drop of a boss would be a way to integrate the two, often opposing game mechanics, together. Its unknown at the moment but its fun to think about :). If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorhead. Episode 13: Lucky Number 13 | Heyo! This weeks talked about new bios, Fan Friday, and Exar Kun!To Download Right Click the Title or This Link and hit "Save Link As..."Fan Friday was just like any other Fan Friday. They continue to show us information about concept art, which is interesting, but I have a feeling they are just waiting to unleash the true mega update we are always waiting for. Not much more then that to talk about. Senior Concept Artist, Ryan Dening, gives us a break-down of the process involved and some of the thinking that went into this concept of Kaas City. The biographies where interesting, mainly focusing on smaller pieces of the galactic struggle with something of a center around Imperial spies and infiltration. It is interesting to see the story start to become more intertwined and become more complex as we learn more and more about the situation within the galaxy. I personally look forward to meeting Bouris Ulgo, the self proclaimed king of Alderaan who I imagine would have many interesting conversations since I guess hes crazy.Diab Duin is a simple Sullstan in charge of one of the important mining colonies to the republic. Chosen for his tight lips when it comes to giving out information it will be interesting to interact with him as you probably help him keep the colony running and stop any spies.Speculation Station! This week added Speculation Station to the show. Talked about possibilities for end game at launch and what I think it will probably be like for the first few months of the game. Episode 12: Quick Episode | Heyo! Have to write a short blog post today, don't have much time! To Download Right Click the Title or This Link and hit "Save Link As..."This weeks episode was also short, and had this strange hum in the background but I suppose when you spill water on your mic things happen like that. Mainly talked about the smuggler in this episode! Got a look a few weeks ago into how the smugglers advanced classes will split off from 1 general class, to two advanced classes, to two more advanced advanced classes with one cross over tree shared by both ACs. This interested me since I never contemplated there being a tree that would fully transfer over between classes, but this makes a lot of sense. Gives some familiarity between the advanced classes so switching back and forth for the first time won't be quite so daunting. A Twi’lek Smuggler steps outside the cockpit with one of her companions for a private conversation. The new planet Ilum seems very interesting. It has the same feel as Hoth with the addition of some actual resources and that its somewhat populated. Other then that its a big ball of ice (or snow i guess). Ilum I'm guessing is going to be a nice level range area, 10-20, 30-40 ect. Its just got that feel to it that its a place your sent to by your trainer for a long series of quests, although thinking on it now all the areas are like that, but this one seems alot more like filler to me, I'm just not sure why. But all filler isn't bad! Its just not integral to the games story as, say, Coruscant. Jedi use this remote encampment for staging missions into the crystal caves of Ilum.If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorheadpcast. Episode 11: You Get What I’m Saying Right? | Heyo! This is pretty much part 1 of my recap of everything that I haven't talked about since my last episode almost a month ago. Everything from discussing Darth Revan to talking about the different forms of "energy" (for lack of a better word) classes use in order to attack. (Also had a lot of microphone problems this episode. Tried cleaning it up after words, but there's a few little pops that I missed.)To Download this episode either right click the title to this post, or right click this link and hit "Save Link As..."The Designing the Light-side video had, to me, two main points. One: You will not be locked into the role of the "Good Guy" or "Evil Guy", you can be on the side of the Sith and still be morally conscience, and be on the side of the republic and still bend the rules a little bit. And two: that you will be an insider of what ever side you choose to play. You will get to see the star wars universe from a perspective that we really haven't been able to see before.Corellia was announced, and it looks pretty cool. The basic story is that this urban center of the republic has recently been hit by open terrorism. It seems the stories will be about uncovering who is behind the bombings, and if your empire perhaps about covering up and destroying even more! A Darth Revan quest line has been announced. We don't have too many details other then the fact that you will get to see what happened to Darth Revan after going after the true sith. Hk-47 will also play a roll (which leads me to believe that the exile from KOTOR 2 will somehow work into this also). I'm guessing this will be a much higher level quest line just because of its importance, it seems right that it should be a harder instance and quest to complete. Furthermore, this also points out a huge shift in how people think of Revan in the game. In KOTOR 1 and 2 Revan was a fresh memory, everyone talked about him/her and still feared him/her to some extent. In TOR Revan is a dead Sith Lord (or jedi master, not sure yet what Revan became after he went out).PAX was a few weeks ago and there's so much info out there that I could not fit it all into one podcast! I focused today mainly on game play comments I found around the web, and mainly at Darth Hater. There was lots and lots of info, but here's mainly what I got from it all:-Fairly standard stats: Agility, Intellect, ect.-Armor hierarchy also fairly standard: Grey < White < Green < Blue-Classes use different mechanisms to use there moves. Such mechanisms are energy (smugglers and imperial agents), Rage (Sith Warrior), Force (Duh...), and Ammo (This was a new one to me, Bounty Hunter uses it). There was lots more info, and I cant right it all down here. I suggest heading on down to Darthhater.com and reading up on this stuff if you haven't already. Next week I'm going to be talking about a lot of interview that are throughout the internet about PAX.If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorheadpcast. Episode 10: ♫ He’s a pinball wiz… I mean… Jedi wizard! ♪ | Heyo, had a tighty little update this week. Learned all the advanced classes, learned about space, and even got some extra goodies from gamescom. SO lets get to it!Episode 10: ? He's a pinball wiz... I mean... Jedi wizard! ? Download this episode (right click and "save link as...")Star ships where a big part of this week. With a space combat video and there own place in the Holonet it looks like the space side of the game is coming to fruition. The closet thing I can compare it to is the beginning of episode 3 in star wars when Anikin and Obi-wan where flying there ships. Over all its very fast, very action packed. Very much like an arcade game, and looks as though it will be an excellent break from the stories and grinding. On top of that I talked about all the advanced classes for a minute, too much to write here :). One thing to note is that I do not believe that you will have to be afraid that you will not get the weapon choice that you had hoped for. Just because a class can specialize even more into a weapon, doesn't necessarily mean you wont be able to specialize into other weapons but with less specialization. And if that idea proves to be wrong, there is no pure Healing or Tanking AC, so you want to be a single bladed DPS Jedi counselor? Its possible! Since the Jedi Wizard is Burst DPS and healing! WOOT WOOT! SO no need to freak out too much, unless you wanted to be general dude from the prequels with the arms, going to have to let you down there I'm afraid.Last thing im going to write about here is species and classes. It has been confirmed that species will get to play many classes! This is from an interview at swtor-station.com. On top of that it seems that some will also be cross faction. So just another thing to take a deep breathe about, looks like there's a good chance you will get what ever race/class combination you want... within reason. Episode 9: Super Duper Catch Up Episode! | Hey! It has been so long since I made my last episode, but no worries because I've finally got around to putting one together! Pretty much I covered the whole last 5 week, Excluding the update about music and sound :[. That's pretty much everything but the kitchen sink in half an hour. Was a little tough getting back into the groove in order to make the show, but by the end I feel I was getting the hang of it (Excluding me cutting the music in the middle of the end sequence). To Download this episode either right click the title to this post, or right click this link and hit "Save Link As..."Nar ShadaThe upper levels of Nar Shaddaa present an endless display of glittering neon towers and floating pleasure palaces.Nar Shada is an exciting place with in the KOTOR universe, mainly because of its central focus in KOTOR2. Here Smugglers and Bounty Hunter will undoubtedly find loads of work for the Exchange and Hutts. Other classes will spend there time working as mercenaries trying to make a credit or two or as Heros fighting oppression of the poor. I believe this will be the starting area of the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler, it just seems to fit. But Nal Hutta would also be perfect. Its likely that you will see Republic and Imperial players working in the same environment relatively peacefully as compared to other planets. Since the planet is neutral it may work as a melting pot for the two factions. PvP will be the main factor in this since if open world PvP is allowed, especially if forced Nar Shada may be known as the place to go if you want to pick a bar fight wit the opposing side.RacesThe Sith Pure Blood is so far my least favorite race. Mainly because I'm not a big fan of the Sith. If you are a Sith all the way kind of person then these red bundles of joy are built for you! They will probably have higher strength and speed. They can be only sith warriors as far as we know at this point in the production, but feel free to hold your breath, because I have a feeling there is nothing will stop them from being Inquisitors. The Miraluka are some what of a fabled race in the more recent KOTOR series. They made their appearance in the KOTOR story line in KOTOR 2, when a dark jedi of the Miraluka race was sent to attack you. Players have been drawn to the mysteries of these interesting force sensitives who do not see with their eyes but rather with the force. It is important to note that only a settlement of the Miraluka was destroyed, not their entire species. They are only being able to play Jedi Knight at the moment, but again probable that they will be able to play counselors also. The Mirialins and Zabarak. Not too much to say, Zabraks are playing sith inquisitor, Mirialins playing Jedi Counselor. Both are disciplined and very alien looking. You can see they want to keep it even at this point. Likely something will separate the two factions eventually. Tired of writing :p, so you'll just have to listen to know about the Jedi Knight! If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorheadpcast. Episode 8: The Postponed Post E3 Episode | Hey! Been a while since my last podcast, been extremely busy. But my Post E3 episode has been made is ready for your enjoyment! This week I mostly discuss what we all saw at E3, give some speculation, and really take a moment to digest all this fresh information. To Download this episode either right click the title to this post, or right click this link and hit "Save Link As..."To begin I talked about the Hope trailer. Not much to take from the video other then it's cool and the guys making this game know how to make us happy. The in game videos where talked about next, they where probably my favorite part of the whole 3 day event! The combat scene from the 5 man instance and the starting zone for the Sith inquisitor where probably the best thing they have showed us about this game so far. The 5 man instance gave us a very good idea of what each class will do, the Jedi Counselor will be healer, Troopers are RANGED tanks (emphasis on ranged :P), Smugglers being mainly DPS apparently with some light heals, and Jedi Knight being DPS. Its easy to assume that Counselor and Trooper will be able to go DPS also. PC Games - E3 2010 - Star Wars: The Old RepublicStarting areas are class based. So far we know the Sith inquisitor and Warrior start on Korriban (What a surprise). I'm guessing that Jedi classes will start on Tython, and that perhaps the Sith Agent and Trooper will start on a planet together, and that perhaps the Smuggler and Bounty Hunter will start on Nar Shada together. Spaceships are going to be a big part of the game. They are your center of operations, and also your get away from the rest of the game world. Your allowed to customize your ship it seems, use it for storage perhaps. Also, believe it or not, they let you go from planet to planet :P.Warzone, playable races, and gear progression. All things that added icing to the cake and I don't feel like writing about them. Its apparent that races will be restricted to a certain class or group of classes, and its unknown if the Republic and the Sith will share some races. As for gear, it looks cool and apparently there's a lot of it. I think that depending on what different types of gear you combine will give u a different affect rather then simply always trying to get one set of tier armor. Its fairly apparent that they want to make customization and finding the right combination more important then going for that one set of ultimate armor.Double blasters drawn, this Twi’lek Smuggler is looking for trouble. If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorheadpcast. Episode 7: No Update, No Problem! | Hey! This week we got no update! So what did we talk about? We filled in a lot of the wholes that we have left unfinished in past episodes. Mainly we Talked about Leveling and crafting. Also Polls! To Download Right Click the Title or This Link and hit "Save Link As..."For Crafting I discussed several different forms of crafting systems found in MMOs. Mainly Star Wars Galxies and how that crafting system was very free form. The benefits of such a free crafting system was a very player based economy which made crafters something to be sought after. World of Warcraft's crafting system was also discussed and compared to SWGs. WoWs crafting system allows for player crafting me side stepped for the most part making them not nearly as needed as they are in SWG. Both have their ups and downs but in the end I believe SWG's combat system was the best. For the polls I made. They made up a lot of the episode. The first poll was for most wanted vanity pet to no ones surprised Tiny Rancor and Mini-Jawa where in the top 2. The polls gave me something to talk about and led us into the whole discussion of everything.Sorry for sound effects being too loud and my lack of knowing what to talk about. If you would like to help you can contact me at Palopit@gmail.com, or at twitter.com/anchorheadpcast. Episode 6: "Jug Head" | Hey! This week we got a super update. We furthered our knowledge on advanced classes and companion characters! Also a neat video on Sith Warriors (in which they through us a little bone with the swoop bike :P). To Download right click the title of this episode and hit save link as, or right click this and do the same. I started this week episode with companions. Companions are looking even better and better. We know that we will start with one, which came as a shock to me, and that they will be fully intractable. I also brought up the theory that perhaps only humans will be playable and that companions will be how we experience the more exotic races of the galaxy. I hope this isn't whats going to happen, but its a possibility. We know that the Sith Warriors get to choose a twielek named Vette, a young smuggler from Nar Shada. It's very likely that her family will play a big role in her side quests should you choose to peruse them. A relationship between a bloodthirsty Trandoshan hunter and a Jedi is remarkable but Jedi pride themselves on being open minded. As for Advanced classes we got the Juggernaut (which the episode was named after) and the Sith Marauder. Your jug heads will be tanks and marauders will be damage. One thing to note is that these are two totally different classes. When talking about them in the future we will have to clarify that what type of sith warrior, since a sith warrior wont only be known for tanking but for supreme damage. Its easy to assume that Sith Inquisitor will heal, although its also very possible that any of the classes can heal. For the Republic Troopers seem like the best choice for a tank, which means trooper = sith warrior maybe, HOW COOL IS THAT. I never expected them to so eloquently make a force wielder equal to a non-force wielder. This game is getting goodddddd. Protecting his allies and punishing his adversaries, the Juggernaut charges into the thick of the fray, and takes the brunt of the assault. The video was nothing much other then a bunch of in game footage, although it was good in game footage. The best part was the swoop bike sneak peak :). Sith Warrior on swoop! (Click for Bigger Image) Also we took a poll. Turns out most people want Mini-Jawa for a non combat pet :). Well see what the poll says at the end of the week! Episode 5: A’ Rambling and Ums | Hey! This week was another slow week for The Old Republic. It being fan Friday gave us a neat video displaying the amazing film effects we'll see in our journey through TOR. Along with that we got a look at some unique fan art. And to top it all off Hoth!To download right click the title and hit "Save link as". Or right click here and do the sameThe fan Friday was satisfying. Although they spoiled us a few weeks ago with so much info, it's hard to get used to little peaks again. The fan art this week was excellent. It is very unique from what others have made in the past, making it fun to look at. Congrats Colm, you have a very cool sci-fi style. The developers corner that came along with the pics was another thing of beauty. The Depth of Perception (or DOP as they call it) added very much to the Star Wars movie feel of the game. I can definitely see that when they said story driven, they meant this game is seriously going to be story driven. The NPC's movements where amazing, and seemed to be near flawless. It looks more like a finished product then a work in progress! During the 2010 Electronic Arts European Press Showcase last week in London, a variety of press and fan sites from across Europe were invited to participate in a hands-on presentation of the Bounty Hunter on the world of Hutta. The planet Hoth was a delightful surprise. They really surprised me with their ability to implement it into the game. Bioware has seriously captured the epic feel of the planet Hoth, sticking with its reputation as the show place for the epic showdown between good and evil. The story there is undoubtedly going to be simple war war war! But I'm also expecting a few nuggets of lore here and there. Who knows what they could put under the icy desert of Hoth, perhaps some ancient lost civilization? Even if they decide to leave Hoth enough alone (Note the pun) I wont mind. It pleases me enough that Hoth is going to be in this game! And the fact that its at launch tells me they are learning from the mistakes of a previous MMO before it. I won't call out any names *cough* !STAR WARS GALAXIES! *cough*.The Republic and Empire are locked in a war of attrition on Hoth, with every kilometer of desolate ice hard won.It may be that the game keeps getting postponed a year before the game is even scheduled to come out, but it seems that the new updates are getting a little sparse. I hold the hope that their just waiting to surprise us with something totally shocking, like an announcement on how leveling or some other form of character progression will work! Next week, assuming they haven't already told us, we'll have a short talk about possible ways they can have character progression and highlight the benefits and non-benefits of these methods.
