Customer Reviews

Short discussions of interesting places around the world.

Each week, two narrators discuss a place on Earth and interesting aspects of it. Because the podcast is only 5 minutes long, the discussion has to be narrow and shallow, but it is interesting all the same. Some examples: - The Great Barrier Reef. Discussion surrounds the diverse ecosystem, including the nature of coral and turtles. Discussion *doesn't* include the destruction of the Reef, tourist availability, or human use. - Uluru/Ayers Rock. Discussion surrounds the nature of colour and sunsets and the sacredness of the Rock. Doesn't include flora and fauna, tourism or myths. - Panama Canal. The creation of the locks and how they work. Doesn't discuss why it was needed, politics and medical discoveries. You should also know: - This is a podcast with images - the narration would stand alone, the images are simply accessories. - One per week, around 5 mins each. - Accessible to all ages. For what it is, this is a good podcast. A quick overview of places around the world, some history, some social science, some natural science. This podcast would be great if, for example, you are starting a project on a site and need an idea of the place, a taste of what to look for. A nice starting point to jump into more depth of research.

boring
