Impact DJs Trance & Progressive podcast is a simple approach to delivering as much new release Trance and Progressive Dance music as we can, all for free! Our weekly podcast format commonly consists of 1 to 2 hour DJ sets, mixed all the way through from end to end. The 2 main DJs over at Impact are Andy Jackson & Andy Sheridan. Together we work hard to put together an artistically mixed, well packaged and informative podcast, that is and always has been our passion. We started out doing this in February 2010 and have already attracted a download base of over 800 listeners/downloads a week. In 2011 we plan to expand even further, bringing an improved format including real DJing vocal, competitions, track of the week voting, episode voting and more. Impact DJs believes in good quality Trance & Progressive music, we believe the scene is now a very well defined and organized scene and we hope that Impact can become a part of that. About the DJs; Andy Jackson - I am both the founder of this site and a true Trance DJ at heart. The reason for coming up with this site is simply becuase I want to make it easier for good DJing talent to distribute its sound to the masses. Personally I really do love Trance and have done for the last 8 years. Although I have never managed to break into mainstream djing in the past, my love for the Trance sound has only ever grown over time. I find the scene just keeps getting better and better. By day I am both a web programmer and Digital DJ, producing some of the intelligent Trance podcasts you can hear on impact djs. Andy Sheridan (a.k.a. DJ Minorthreat). I didn’t find trance particularly appealing until I was given Euphoria Hard House Mixed by Lisa Lashes by a girl at school who was convinced I’d “love it”. I didn’t, although it did spark my interest in dance music, leading to a couple of discoveries the likes of Binary Finary’s 1998 and Liquid Child’s Diving Faces, which, had it not been for my depressive mentality during my teens, would have cemented dance music as my favourite genre at an early age. In 2005 a great friend re-introduced me to dance music in the form of progressive trance and I was instantly hooked. Luckily I had the very best introduction to the genre, hearing everything from underground progressive to classic trance anthems. Paul Oakenfold – Zoo York, Matthew Dekay – Beautiful Monday and Sasha – Xpander are a few of the tracks that catapulted my interest in the genre and remain absolute all-time favourites. Nowadays my preference is geared towards high-energy melodic, mixed with deep progressive trance. Current favourite producers and DJs include Andy Moor, Gareth Emery, Kyau & Albert, Armin van Buuren, Mat Zo, Michael Cassette and John O’Callaghan. Anyway this week has been something special. For the first time ever I undertoook a sky dive today in the name of the Southend on Sea Bosom Pals Appeal (a local Breast Cancer charity) and I have to say it was amazing, maybe even life changing. It happened literally 6 hours ago as I write this! Anyway me and 9 other colleagues & friends completed our jumps at 12’000 feet today and OMG was it awesome! We have also raised over £2000 for the charity which we are all really proud of. Im still sitting here smiling! Anyway so onto the Music – this week, rather than conduct our usual shout of a 2 hour showcase of the latest Trance & Progressive, I have instead decided to SMASH out a mix containing only Euphoric Trance. I think you will understand the tone of this weeks mix when you hear the opening track! CleanImpact DJs Trance & Progressive Podcast Episode 055 | Download Cover Download MP3 Subscribe via iTunes So we are back once again with episode 055 and for me this week something a little bit special. Me and Skorpio went to see Above & Beyond @ The Gallery on Friday 1st April for their Sun & Moon single tour and damn it was messy! Yep Above & Beyond back in London city and we got tickets, all in all it was a good night. In tribute to such a good night out, I have ensured a lot of the tracks that went off for me that night are here in the podcast! The highlights of the night for me were hearing the track on the intro of the podcast – a track called Erick Strong – Orchids, great club track through a loud sound system! Also, a classic track remixed again in the form of Ferry Corsten – Digital Punk (Arty Rock & Rolla Remix). The biggest moment for me though was hearing Super8 & Tab start the last set at 4am with My Enemy (Rank 1 Remix), that was amazing! Great producers! Anyway so over to this week’s releases? Well, there’s quite a mixed bag in here this week, partly lead by the sets I heard at The Gallery but here goes; A&B – Sun & Moon – had to play it – not making excuses. Good track A&B but don’t do a Tiesto and go completely commercial. Best track on here, without doubt is Meridian – Shifter, not heard of this artist but this track is VERY good – watch this space. Last two on the list have to be MaRLo – Semtex, really different prog break on this one, and finally Taras Bazeev & Maxim Yurin – Moon City, very different sound once again. The saxaphone hook in that track is not only unusual, its very catchy. Also on the mix is a great new track from M6 & Willem Van Hanegem – Genesis. This week its me Andy Jackson back on the decks after a short spell away – mostly due to the fact that I had to completely rebuild my setup after a move (reconfiguring traktor to work with my mixer was a bitch)!
