Warning: Deceptive and Infectious

To say that I've been absolutely deceived is to considerably understate the issue, in the same way that one may refer to the size of a whale as being "modest". Why? Quite simply, it's because of the practices employed by JapanesePod101. How dare they make one of the hardest languages to learn so accessible and easy to pick up that it puts the "ease" back into "Japanese" (well, sort of). How dare they make their learning materials so portable that you can learn where ever and when ever it's convenient for you. On top of all of that, how dare they make their lessons so fun and engaging that they're near infectious. Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to burst out into spontaneous laughter or be caught muttering "benkyo ni narimashita" in crowded areas? And the most infuriating part? Despite any embarrassment, you'll find the genuine enthusiasm and passion of the talent (except for deadpan Yoshi, though he makes up for it in the iLove videos) so addictive that you'll be coming back for more. They're like the moreish snackfoods of the podcast world. You can't stop with just one. On a more serious note, Japanese101 engenders a sense of family that is unique to anything else that I've come across. To refer to it a community would be to refer to a whale as modest, as it considerably understates the close relationship between JapanesePod101 and their students. It is this relationship that has made JapansePod101 the premiere online resource for learning Japanese. Oh, one final warning; be wary of Peter and his jokes.

I've discovered what iPods are for.

Great way of learning some Japanese, or freshening up high school or University beginner courses. Very relaxed style, with young modern words taught. Although my Japanese wife says the language taught is almost too casual, my conservative father-in-law wouldn't approve, perhaps that's a bonus. すばらしです。Very, very nice. リック シドニー

Speak Japanese like the Japanese do!

Having studied Japanese from text books and other online resources - I cannot stress enough the joy in discovering this podcast. The presenters are well practised, and the content well researched - and give listeners examples of phrases in both polite and casual forms. The content is extremelly usefull for the casual tourist, or those wanting to supplement their other study. The Japanese Culture lessons are a wonderful addition - helping us to appreciate the exotic Japanese culture as well as the language. The lessons are the perfect length to digest on a daily basis - and after just 3 weeks I know more than I did when I started. And I remembered it. Let's just hope that these guys have the will to continue this on a long term basis!!! From Sydney Australia
