ExplicitEp34 - Norway's Mass Murderer | Jess, Shelli, Nerisa and Rohan talk about Norway's Mass Murderer. We take a look at the difference between legal and clinical definitions of 'sanity' and 'insanity', the quantitative impact of violent video games on aggression and why crimes goes down as gameplay goes up. Finally, we have a chat about good ol' fashioned prejudice. Check out Psycho-babble.net for shownotes, forums and media. Media: A video simulating what it's like to be Schizophrenic. Just a little something to help illuminate the difference between what it means to be 'insane' (as a popular conception) and what it means to be legally 'insane'. | 23 5 12 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitEp33 - Cognitive Errors and Illusions | Why is reality not as we perceive? Why aren't we any good at attributing motives and explaining behaviour in others and how can we tell when we've got it all backwards? And why do always overestimate the prevalence of our own opinions, sometimes in extreme and grossly unrealistic ways. Finally, how can we totally miss the world around? We do it all the time. Check out psycho-babble.net for videos, shownotes and references. ExplicitEp21 - 7 Billion | What does it mean that the Earth is now home to 7 Billion people?
