ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #34 | Matt, Fiona and Elroy are back after an inpromptu break! To play catch-up the format of this show was changed slightly - the first 2 fifteen minutes are spent discussing In Time, Contagion, and the Paranormal Activity franchise. Followed by a discussion about some of the special effects work that Matt was involved with for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Following that there's some movie news, and an ill-informed discussion about a Sony vs Apple showdown in the lounge room! ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #32 | This week Elroy hangs up his mic and hands the show over to Matt, Fiona and Zak… chances are that he won't do it again, but here's your chance to listen in on what happens when the boss is away. Well, he's not away, so much as he's off mic. And he's not the boss, so much as he owns all the gear, but you get the point. Matt, Fiona and Zak discuss The (New) Thing, Drive, Real Steel, and The Whistleblower. And in an effort to be completely meta, the team once again talk about movie sequels and prequels. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #31 | Another quiet week at the cinema still isn't enough to stop the Remote Viewing team from talking crap about movies! Fiona was watching Spy Kids 4D and Norwegian Wood, Elroy made his way to a screening of Miles Philip's Metropolis score Redux and Attack the Block, while Matt applied plenty of alcohol and loads of feeling sorry for himself. This week's discussion topic is the rambling subject of Movies that are turned into TV shows (or visa versa): We throw a list of titles around and chat about what makes for a good transition! ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #30 | Still deep in a cinema black-spot most of the Remote Viewing team have gone back and visited movies that they missed the first time around. Matt rejoins the show, after his work related hiatus, and discusses the Ayrton Senna documentary Senna. Fiona snuck into a preview screening of Crazy Stupid Love, Elroy was impressed by Eddie Murphy's performance in DreamGirls, and Zak chimes in on all of it! This episode's discussion topic is "Movies that changed your life" - but don't expect anything deep from the RV team, its the twitter/facebook response that we received which has all the best comments. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #29 | This week the Remote Viewing team assembles once again, despite the complete lack of anything relevant to their interests being released in the cinemas. Fiona rubbed her eyes against the rental titles The Mechanic, and The Hole. While Elroy watched in horror as a Hobo with a Shotgun cleaned up a crime riddled town! As usual Zak has seen more movies than anyone would care to note, so he chimes in on all these titles, and more. The discussion topic for the week is When Kids Movies Go Bad! The team discuss PC rated movies that, despite their ratings, contain content that appears a little beyond the intended audience! Together the guys traverse a pretty bleak week as far as cinema releases go: Zak managed to see a preview of Attack the Block, and then the guys find themselves in an impromptu Planet of the Apes related discussion. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #22 | This week our discussion topic is the childbirth scene from the brilliant 2006 film Children of Men - Elroy and Fiona grill Matt on his understanding of some of the stunning effects work that went into making a scene that most viewers aren't even aware contains any effects at all. Fiona made it to the cinema to see Mr Popper's Penguins, and the latest (and last) Harry Potter film. Elroy went for another cult classic and watched Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris swap beatings in Way of the Dragon. Not to be out done Matt dug out the Van Damme flick Double Impact. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #21 | The ripe old age of 21! To celebrate our 21st episode the team pretty much just rushed through the recording and bolted out the door to eat themselves into food induced comas at a nearby dumpling house. But before that they managed to chat about a few movie related things! Fiona didn't hold back when discussion her thoughts on the film The Tree of Life. Matt caught up on the comic adaptation of RED, staring Bruce Willis, And the best Elroy could muster was a DVD night with some friends! In episode 20 the team talk Movie Shame, and out a whole bunch of listeners who were tricked into confessing their secret shame! Elroy dug into the new DVD release box and pulled out Mutant Girl Squad, and dropped in to see Remote Viewing's own Zak Hepburn for a Cult Vault screening of Big Boss. Matt continued to educate the lovely Frocksandfroufrou in the ways of classic movies by watching The Big Chill. And Fiona braved the reviews to see Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #19 | This episode continues our efforts to examine the work of some of our favourite (and not so favourite) film makers, this week Fiona put her hand up to lead a discussion on one of her personal favourites, the man behind Machete, El mariachi, From Dusk Till Dawn: Robert Rodriguez. She also made her way to the cinema to see Cars 2 and the new Kung-Fu Panda movie. Elroy parked on the couch and watched some Chinese wire-fu action in the Blu-Ray release of Reign of Assassins. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #18 | The team decided to take a break from film this week, which of course means that Fiona went right to the cinema and saw Julia's Eyes. Elroy and Matt however followed the rules and focused on television shows that they wanted to catch up on, which was the topic for this week: What we're watching on TV. The crew talked about the TV shows that have been renewed for another season, and a few that haven't been. This topic ran horrendously long though, so this episode strays from the usual format, in that the last half of the show is a single block which consists of mostly TV talk, and some release dates and feedback crammed awkwardly into the last few minutes of the show. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #17 | Matthew was unable to make the recording this week, so we sent out a distress flare to Zak Hepburn, who you may remember as being our guest on episode #11. Zak, Fiona and Elroy had all been to the cinema to see the new JJ Abrams / Steven Spielberg sci-fi/action/adventure flick Super 8. Elroy also watched a new Green Lantern DVD release, and Fiona and Zak compared their notes on the film Bridesmaids. This week we also tackled the first of the recently collated listener suggested discussion topics: Great Films with Bad Endings! ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #16 | This week Matt burnt some work bandwidth downloading the public domain film Last Man on Earth, in preparation for the Zombie discussion topic that Elroy put forward last week. Fiona also did some research and watched the recent remake of The Crazies. But going right to the head of the class was Elroy, who went beyond the call and watched Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, Survival of the Dead, Re-Animator, La Horde, Dellamorte Dellamore and Resident Evil. The sad part was that he'd totally forgotten about the discussion topic, that's just a normal weeks viewing for him... weirdo! Fiona and Elroy also managed to make it to the cinema to see the latest instalment of the X-Men franchise: FIrst Class. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #15 | Calling for user input on discussion topics has given a wealth of topics for future episodes, but we grabbed the meta topic of 'Reviewers' off the top of the pile and talked about a couple of our favourite movie reviewers and how to get the best our of a reviewer (even if you don't agree with them). Matt took in a couple TV shows this week one he loved, one... not so much. Elroy defied Fiona's take on Pirates 4 from the last episode and ventured to the cinema... he'll probably listen to Fiona in the future. While Fiona ventured out to the cinema to see Hangover 2 and then dropped by her favourite blockbuster, dove into the bargain box, and came out with a copy of Pulse. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #14 | The experiment of surprising each other with discussion topics took a horrible turn this week, when Matt sprung a Director feature on Fiona and Elroy. Much like the man's movies, the team's attempt to discuss the work of Michael Bay ended up being something of a train wreak. While convalescence on the couch this week, Elroy watched the hotly anticipated DVD release of RUBBER... Yeah, that movie about the tyre that goes around killing people. Elroy also managed to download the new release film The Tunnel without running foul of any copyright laws. Fiona made her way to our nation's capitol, she says it was for a friend's engagement, but we all know it was to buy fire crackers and porn... she also managed to find time to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #13 | This week's discussion topic, Adapting video games to movies, takes a rather chatty turn and ends up spanning the majority of the second half of the episode. Although, luckily they're related, we still managed to get a couple of feedback emails in. Fiona and Elroy both hit the cinema, between them seeing Burke and Hare, Insidious, and Your Highness, while Matt continued his digital distribution challenge and discovered a remastered James Bond classic. Fiona saw Paul, Arthur and Scream 4. while Matt checked out the food industry documentary Food Inc. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #11 | This was a special episode for the Remote Viewing team for a couple of reasons. 1/ we were lucky enough to record the episode from within one of our favourite cinemas here in Melbourne: The Palace Westgarth - home of the Friday night cult cinema sessions known as Cult Vault. We were also joined by the Curator of the Cult Vault, Zak Hepburn, for a discussion about classic cinema. 2/ Fiona returns from her three week absence, and fills us in on what she’s been up to during her sabbatical. Not the least of which was seeing the new Jake Gyllenhaal action flick, Source Code. Matt continues to his efforts to catch up on some recent films that he missed at the box-office by watching The Town. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #10 | Irregular Fiona returns this week, as hopes for the return of regular Fiona continue to fade. Matt's spent the week watching a couple of big name movies that he missed last year, thanks to his purchase of an AppleTV, he talks about The Social Network, Kickass and how his iDevice compares with his Playstation when it comes to hiring movies digitally. Fiona and Elroy both managed to get to the cinema twice to catch a couple of fun, action-packed, new releases. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #07 | Enticed by Matt’s thoughts on BATTLE LA in last week’s episode, FIona decided to see it for herself, so this week we’re treated to her view of the blockbuster. Elroy maybe wishes that he’d seen something a little cheerier this week after watching NEVER LET ME GO at the cinema and previewing the blu-ray release of MONSTERS. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #06 | It was a horror week for Australian cinema, Fiona hired a couple of horror dvds, Elroy was horrified by Red Riding Hood, and Matt let the side down by watching nothing but cooking shows. The highlight of the recording session for episode #06 were the scrumptious and overly indulgent cookies being baked by Matt’s partner - the resulting sugar rush could be to blame for the rant that the team go on regarding the state of film funding and tax-breaks in Australia. This episode also features a discussion on the work of George Lucas, which may or may not also be sugar fuelled too. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #05 | This week Remote Viewing achieves the huge milestone that is the fifth episode. Yup, that’s half way to making it to double figures! It’s also our first episode since going weekly and the team have all hit the cinemas and taken in a couple of the latest releases, including Battle: Los Angeles and Limitless. For some twisted reason Fiona springs the macabre discussion topic of “Animal Movies (in which the animals die) ” on the guys… and they play along, mostly out of fear for their own safety. Also discussed are the latest movie news and rumours, and some feedback takes us into video game and digital movie rental territory. ExplicitRemote Viewing Podcast: Episode #04 | Matt and Fiona (and their respective partners) made time to see Rango right before recording episode 04, so with that fresh in their minds they discuss their thoughts on the ILM animated feature. Elroy struck out on his own and saw Nick Cage's medieval shenanigans in Season of the Witch. Fiona had a busy week, seeing Inside Job and The Adjustment Bureau, and making a public nuisance of herself by assaulting a random stranger with popcorn. The talking point this week is the Bechtel Test, what it is, what it's for, and some of the movies that do and don't pass it. Elroy asks for help with understanding Alien reproduction, Fiona has some goodies to give aways (Listen to the podcast for details!). But mostly everyone just gets their rant on. It's beautifuuuulllll!
Sultry voices speak media related musings straight into my ear canals. I listened to them even before they got famous, as I had wired tapped their conversations. Little did they know it was I who stole that multi-million dollar deal from underneath them! But I digress. It is an interesting show, that will only become better and better as time progresses. I do wish to own a large cinema sized wall poster of that speaker, Matt. His knowledge on magics can and will only bring destruction to the majority of the known Mage Kingdom of Manahorn. Alas, henceforth, thusly. Three words in ye-olde style English. Let us drink ale from oversized novelty steins and celebrate Remote Viewing, the only Podcast Apple loves. Steve Jobs must have it on his iDevice. He must...
