11 Superman 5 | That's right. 10 Superboy Supergirl 5 | For the second of three episodes this month, Jon, Dave, and Mike are going to be looking at the fifth issue of each Superteen title. Superboy 5 -- "Breakout" -- Before heading out to beat on Wonder Girl, Superboy wants to save Caitlin Fairchild. But why? What's his motivation? Can we figure out what Lobdell is trying to say? Supergirl 5 -- "Homecoming" -- Kara goes home and finds nothing but death and destruction. And a big ugly who beats on her. What happened to them? What does it all mean? And who shot Zor-El? The length of the discussion for the non-Action titles this month was lengthy enough that Jon felt a cut was in order. The episodes are left a touch on the short side compared to usual, but that's better than super-long for some people, so here it is. Look for the rest in a week. Thanks so much for listening. 09 Action Comics 5 | It begins -- again! The New 52 Adventures gang is here to discuss the new origin of Superman as presented in Action Comics 5, and this time they bring a friend along in the person of Michael Bailey of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, Tales of the Justice Society of America, and Radio KAL Live!, as well as staff writer at the Superman Homepage! "Rocket Song" -- It may be the seventeenth origin that Superman has gotten in the last year and a half (or something like that), but we loved it anyway. The question is, why did it have to happen smack in the middle of another story? We have the hash and dash on all that as well as some comparisons with previous versions of the. "Baby Steps" -- Wow, did this story catch us all by surprise, and it gives a chance for four men to share their feelings. But don't let that frighten you! You'll also get Michael Bailey's opinions on the New 52 relaunch as a whole and the other Superman books in particular, with some solid appreciation of Serinda Swan mixed in for good measure. This time, Jon, Dave, and Mike tackle the latest developments in the following stories: "Free at Last, Free at Last" -- Superboy finds his first taste of freedom and runs across a lava woman. Who is the third DNA source she mentions, and did she serve any other purpose to the story than to mention this? "Memento" -- Supergirl follows Luke Skywalker's practice droid up to Mr. Tycho's space station, but will she be able to resist Tycho's Brain?? "A Cold Day in Hell" -- Clark's secret admirer is whisked away in a whirlwind of alien possession, and Superman has to save him. And guest artist Nicola Scott makes him look great while doing it. But just how many alien possession elementals does Pérez have up his sleeve? We also spend some time with the third installment of Justice League but Teen Titans is left out of the running this month due to a 100% lack of Superboy. So come check out the episode!! Great Show
This podcast, hosted by J. David Weter, whose great at this, Jon Wilson, whose almost as good, and Micheal Kaiser, whose also really good, make this fun show a joy to listen to. It's got jokes, but serious discussions. It's about Superman, but with some Star Trek references. But, in a nut-shell, it's a Great Show!
