Album Review
Adya Classic mixes famous melodies by classical composers — such as Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" and "The Marriage of Figaro," Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," and Bach's "Air" — with modern pop production and dance beats. The Belgian project is helmed by producer Aadrian van Landschoot (who created Eurovision Song Contest tracks for Dream Express and Stella back in 1977 and 1982, respectively), arranger Phil Sterman, and conductor Edwig Abrath; despite being derided by classical music lovers, the album managed to top the Belgian charts and stay at number one for five weeks.
