Meesterwerk

Dat MGMT hét album van 2008 gemaakt heeft, weten we al een poosje. Met monsterhits zoals Time to pretend, electric feel en kids kon dat ook niet anders. Verwacht dit soort hits niet op dit album.... maar het is daarom zeker geen slecht album.... Integendeel! Het is een lekker strak album.... helemaal hun ding, niks geforceerd en pure muziek, zoals het hoort, zonder boe of ba. Sommige nummers hebben een paar luisterbeurten nodig (song for dan tracy, congratulations) en andere nummers zijn meteen raak (it's working, someone's missing en niet te vergeten flash delerium). Siberian breaks is een meesterwerk op zich.... 12 minuten lang, maar het verveelt je geen seconde. Toegegeven hun vorige plaat vond ik na luisterbeurt 1 er boenk op... deze plaat moet je wat langer in je oren houden, maar dan besef je dat het een steengoed album is.
