Power Plant Fundamentals

Power Plant Fundamentals: Plant Theory, is the second in a fourteen-book series by nHance Technologies.  Plant Theory covers the background theory required for a fundamental knowledge of power plant operation.  Plant Theory begins by discussing the general energy equation and moves into properties of fluids such as pressure, temperature, and heat content.  Basic thermodynamics and physical properties of water and steam are also covered.  Plant Theory concludes by discussing the concept of heat rate and how it is used to measure power plant efficiency.


The Power Plant Fundamentals series provides a basic understanding of power plants by presenting an overview of what they do and how they work.  While the Power Plant Fundamentals series primarily focuses on coal fueled power plants, other plant types are introduced and the shared characteristics are applicable to virtually all types of power plants.  Interactive illustrations, various widgets, and section reviews are used throughout the series to provide a memorable, interactive, and user-friendly experience.
