There’s come a point in so many television series where a certain song, whether a classic or one written specifically for an episode, elicits an emotion so strong it can embody the struggle of the characters and the conflicts that tangle between them.
Sebastian Pigott’s “ALIEN” featured in episodes 205 and 212 (in its entirety) on the cult-hit CBC series Being Erica does just that. It’s the one song that will forever characterize Season II and just how Erica Strange feels as she moves into a new chapter of her life. One that may be more stable… yet not without its share of challenges and obstacles.
Finally Erica finds someone who knows what it’s like to have this unbelievable secret – that’s not only an incredible gift, but often a burden plaguing her relationships with family and friends. Kai Booker shares this secret. And the lyrics of his (character’s) song “ALIEN” explores this… evokes this in such a way that it makes your heart melt.
There’s a quality to the tone of Pigott’s voice that matches the intensity of his character Kai’s stare and allure. You can hear the hardship… the ailing from his past. It’s a beautiful kind of ailing that’s sure to trigger emotion, just as it does my own.
Paired with a lovely, light melody, his story of a lonely soul facing isolation but discovering companionship makes for the kind of song that indeed compliments Erica’s narrative.
I anticipate it will be a radio hit. But moreover, it’ll be remembered as a successful soundtrack, sure to grab fans and hold them right on through to Season III

For anyone who has felt misunderstood and unseen, for anyone who has then met somebody who suddenly connects your dots, for anyone who has held that ache and that miracle as close as possible...this song is for you.
I love "Being Erica"
This show is one of the best if not the best on CBC, and i love this song as soon as I heard it the first time on the show, I am so happy that the full single is out now! It's completely worthy buying !!
