Another covers-heavy hodgepodge of U.K. singles and album tracks, the second 1965 Stones album still has much to recommend, from the frantic opening "She Said Yeah" (which served the same role on the English Out of Our Heads) to the gorgeous, strings-backed "As Tears Go By" (the Jagger-Richards-Andrew Look Oldham ballad that had been a hit for Marianne Faithful, here given extra bite via Mick's barbed vocals). "Get Off of My Cloud" remains a classic Stones rocker, "I'm Free" churns nicely, and "The Singer Not the Song" is a tuneful bit of existentialism. Live versions of "Route 66" and Hank Snow's country hit "I'm Moving On" might seem tossed in, but actually help round out a solid set.
