What a voice
Betty Bonifassi has the most amazing set of pipes, if you were a fan of her singing when she was with DJ Champion you'll love this too. It's more funk and less electronica ... but just incredible.

I don't know if it's in the water but my hometown is spawning the most exciting music I've heard in a long time. Beast is soul, funk, dark, head bobbing, intelligent and genre-less genius. Out of everything I've encountered in the past year, this refreshing duo has simply set the bar. If you don't buy this album you're robbing yourself of a big fat shiny gem. Yes, it's that good.

Montreal-based aggressive trip-hop group Beast formed in 2004 as a collaboration between vocalist Béatrice Bonifassi and DJ/composer/drummer Jean-Phi Goncalves. Before joining forces, both parties had performed for nearly two decades individually within the music industry: highlights of their sprawling résumés include Bonifassi's performance on The Triplettes de Belleville soundtrack and Goncalves' collaboration with Lauryn Hill while drumming with the band Plaster.
