Led by the radio single "Piano Blink," 2008's Between the Beautifuls found Hawksley Workman sharpening his quirky pop/rock sound, with traces of folk and cabaret music creeping into the mix.

Another Great Album
Hawksley Workman is one of the most reliable Canadian talents in that he will always deliver an interesting and beautiful album. This one is no different.
More adult contemporary, still love it.
I really enjoyed this CD. It has been interesting to listen to the evolution from the wildly quirky and sometimes harsh sounds on For Him and the Girls to the more mellow sounds of Treeful of Starling and Between the Beautifuls. It has this really easy to listen to adult contemporary vibe while retaining the whimsy that makes loyal fans love Hawksley so much. Can't wait to see this stuff live - he has always put on an engaging performance that makes you go home and put all Hawksley CD's in the changer...
More beautiful than a tree
Treeful of Starling was not up to my expectations, but this... is better than expected Hawksley Workman is producing dramatic, beautiful, enchanting music and lyrics again. I'm very pleased.
