"Who owns the throne?"

Christina Aguilera's 4th studio album is hot, while reminicent of her album Stripped it's definitely more on the fun side. She didn't lie when she said there is going to be songs on this album for everyone - from the blaring intro title track "Bionic," to the upbeat "Woohoo" featuring Nicki Minaj, to her soulful ballads "You Lost Me" and "I Am," Christina delivers.

She has been pinned against competing female artists by the media, and if you believe what's been said, one listen of this album will make it obvious she's in a league of her own. She may have been away from the music scene for the past 4 years but XTINA has returned. :)

Hm

Okay obviously the person who wrote the fricken essay about this is very bias, because lady gaga does have amazing talent along with good entertainment! She writes all her songs, hasnt taken a break in 2 years, is amazing on the piano, and is very creative. Christina is a whole other person. Get both on ur iPod. :)

Xtins ia back and better than ever!!!

Bionic by Christina Aguilera is an AMAZING body of work that reinforces the lack of true talent that is missing from today’s music scene. Its been four years since Xtina’s last studio album, (the less than stellar and sometimes messy Back to Basics) and two years since the birth of her son Max. Much has changed in the music world, it appears that today the public seem to favour theatrics over substance, which is fine when you look at gimmicks such as Lady Gaga. But what is the message? Where is the point? The media (Perez Hilton in particular) all want to create negative focus around this album, but what they fail to see is that there is no competition, there is no comparison. Gaga is the show, Xtina is the talent. If you like meaningless sugar pop music, then go buy “The Fame” or any Britney Spears albums. Aguilera is in a league of her own, what she does, she does with focus, determination, drive and most of all a very strong message. Aguilera has always had female empowerment as the underlining factor behind almost all her studio efforts, a feat missing from all her peers. People are quick to judge her based on her acceptance of herself and her ability to flaunt her sexuality in your face. But like she proved with her Dirrty video, its only a problem in society when a woman is in power and in control. Male rap artist are almost encouraged it seems and are allowed to be overtly sexual but its acceptable because guys don’t call each other “sluts” and “whores”. What fascinates me the most is that females are the first to hate on Xtina, failing to see how many doors she has opened for them. Without Christina Aguilera we would have no Lady Gaga, we would have no Ke$ha, and pretty much any aspiring vocalist this generation, the list goes on. Bionic is a slap in the face to all the people who said she wouldn’t be around still, so with that in mind, lets talk about the album. Bionic is an almost flawless affair except for a few minor bums along the road. The content is there, but the one thing lacking however is the placement of the tracks. Had someone put a little more time and effort into selecting a tracklist that flows, this album would be the album to beat this year. Songs such as “Glam”, “I Hate Boys” and “My Girls” are all bonus disc material, but somehow actually made it onto the regular edition of the album. Songs on the deluxe version, such as “Monday Morning”, ”Birds of Prey” and “Bobbelhead” should have all made the regular edition of this album, while cutting the above three mentioned. Stand out tracks include...well pretty much everything except for “I Hate Boys”, “Glam” and “My Girls”. “Not Myself Tonight” was not the first single on this album, “Elastic Love” or “Prima Donna” should have lead off this stellar body of work. The great thing about Bionic is that it’s very reminiscent of Aguilera’s best studio album to date, Stripped (2002). There is something for everyone here. From the moody melodic “Birds of Prey”, the in-your-face addictive lyrics of “Vanity”, the Hippy-fun “Monday Morning”, the catchy & infectious “WooHoo” to the explosive title track “Bionic” and the MIA produced “Elastic Love”, it all sounds amazing. Did I even mention the slower side of the album Xtina penned with SIA? Its not even worth mentioning because its all just absolutely amazing, the one part of the album I would not change what so ever. Its a little painful to see such amazing work being dimmed by its track-list, but if you listen to each track on its own and judge this body of work song by song, you would find very little to hate. Its is truly an amazing effort and one worth buying. Aguilera is here to stay and this album just reinforces why she is the one to beat, she is the one above the rest. Show your respect for strong, powerful, assertive women, BUY BIONIC! It is and will be one of the Best Albums of 2010 come yearend. ...Bionic is the blueprint of things to come in pop music.

Biography

Born: December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, NY

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

A leader in the parade of Mickey Mouse Club veterans who stormed pop at the turn of the millennium, Christina Aguilera was the sexy, brassy diva of the bunch — the Rolling Stones to Britney Spears’ Beatles, as it were. Initially, it was difficult to see Christina outside of the prism of Britney, whose 1999 success launched the new millennium's teen pop boom, but Christina’s big hits of 1999 — “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants,” “Come on Over” — more than held their own with...
