Customer Reviews

Warning - it's contagious

*Revised review As BoA stated before, it's a pure dance/pop album. Each track is surely going to make you turn your speakers up and make you dance. Many famous hit producers were involved in this album, hence making this one album that won't stop spinning. Sean Garrett, who happened to produced the album's title track, "I Did It For Love" is a great way to start off the album. It is then followed by "Energetic" to Bloodshy & Avant's "Did Ya" (easily BoA's own "Toxic") to "Look Who's Talking", which has a Britney vibe Britney fans can appreciate, as it was co-penned and co-composed by Ms. Spears herself. You'll then find yourself lingering from her first absorbing obsessive single "Eat You Up" all the way to the "Hypnotic Dancefloor". Those who favored BoA's Korean Hit "Girls On Top" will also enjoy the English rendition in this album, most likely as a fan service to English speaking BoA fans. It's also one to be enjoyed by many mainstream listeners as one album. There are many tracks to enjoy. You'll find yourself intoxicated with this album after one spin. *Though "I Did It For Love" (the current single as of March 17th 2009) and "Did Ya" is labeled Album only, it is encouraged one buys the whole album to enjoy one complete intoxicating album. Hopefully this changes soon...

Give it a chance

This is an album that takes some time to really like. I'll admit that it barely caught my ear when I first heard each song, but after hearing them 3 or 4 times, they're really catching onto me. My favourites from this album would have to be I Did It For Love, Look Who's Talking, Girls on Top and Hypnotic Dancefloor.

South Korean vocalist BoA is a rarity in that she is as big a star in Japan, Asia's largest music market, as she is in her homeland. Often recording multiple versions of her songs in Korean, Japanese, and English, BoA has also won fans in China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, and Singapore. As a teen pop phenomenon who made her debut at age 14 in 1999, BoA has inevitably been compared to Britney Spears. But her easy-on-the-ears dance-pop and American-style...
