Customer Reviews

A gift from her Madgesty

I read a review here that prompted me to reply. Refering to the new Madonna track as "cheap" and "gay". It boggles my mind that people would think to write such narrow, prejudiced and short-sighted comments (I am sure this person hasn't purchased the single). Madonna has produced what she intended, which is a classic piece of club music - she worked with Paul Oakenfeld - so we all new what to expect in terms of sound and genre. Celebration will easily make it's way to #1 in top 40 countdowns all over the world - with one exception I am sure - the very narrow-minded American radio format. I hope I am wrong but in the end it's their loss as this track has already become another jewel in the crown of a woman who has stayed atop the pop mountain for more than 25 years. The cover art is beautiful and the track is like a piece of dance floor heaven. Thank you Madonna.

Definitely Something To Celebrate

Madonna doing what Madonna does best. Releasing a throw your hands-in-the-air, dance, sweat and move your body until the early hours of the morning single. It's nothing particularly new (in fact, it's a obviously a throw back to a large portion of her music catalogue where lines like "step to the beat" are homages to her earlier work, and there's even a little bit of Erotica thrown in with the mention of not recognizing her dance partner with their clothes on), but it's accomplishing exactly what it's been set out to: To celebrate her music career thus far and to end this era (with Warner) on a high note. It's instantly electrifying and catchy with a musical hook that will have you humming along through-out the day, even if you don't realize it. Madonna fans are sure to love it, while Madonna detractors will repeat the same thing they've been saying since 1985, that she's done (nothing new in that department). Overall, a solid 5 out of 5 stars, and a perfect way to end one section of an era, and to begin another.

Whoo Hoo

Madonna may be all into that kabbalah deepness, but she's at her best when she writes a brainless dance track. Love it.

After stars reach a certain point, it's easy to forget what they became famous for and concentrate solely on their personas. Madonna is such a star. Madonna rocketed to stardom so quickly in 1984 that it obscured most of her musical virtues. Appreciating her music became even more difficult as the decade wore on, as discussing her lifestyle became more common than discussing her music. However, one of Madonna's greatest achievements is how she manipulated the media and the public...
