Album Review

Influenced by Lawrence Gellert's Negro Songs of Protest, Chill'em All is the debut album from Canadian DJ/producer Maxime Morin, aka Champion. Released in 2005, its combination of bluesy guitars and electro-lounge production spawned the hit single "No Heaven," which was also used as the theme tune to TV show The Line, and featured vocals from regular collaborator Betty Bonifassi. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Customer Reviews

He builds the energy up like no one else!

Months after the Juno Awards, he returned to Saskatoon for the Jazz Festival and I had the chance to see him for a full length concert. This guy is unreal !! He's the DJ, and he has a band of 5 guitar players, which makes a really unique style of music. What amazed me the most, is how he builds the energy and excitement constantly in each one of his songs. So much in fact, that you can hear the crowd almost waiting to burst! It's cool. He's cool. He's Canadian, what else can I say.

Cool Combination

I love the combination of western guitars, with electronic elements, It was a genius idea. Some of the songs are instrumentals, and they're just as good as the songs with vocals.

Borderlands

I found this band after I heard the song no heaven in the credits to the game borderlands, awesome game awesome song
