Album Review
Static X's sixth album, Cult of Static, finds the nu-metal veterans steadfastly refusing to change their stripes, and why should they? As they say in the album's title, Static X have a cult that enjoys their adherence to all things that were nu in the '90s: riffs that grind instead of groove, merciless mechanical rhythms, vague drowning synths, all dressed with barking Cookie Monster vocals. Static X don't develop their music as much as they hone it, concentrating on its barest essentials, then delivering it with precision and little flair. This leaves little room to lure new listeners, but that's not the point of this sixth album — it's to serve the needs of the Cult, and it does just that. [Cult of Static was also released in a clean version, with explicit content removed.]

Best album since WDT!
Any fan who may have lost faith in Static-X over the years (shame on you) should fear no more! They have returned in full force with guns blazing. Tera-Fied is the absolute star here being quite possibly the best song of their career. Long live the cult of static!

this album to me doesnt seem to great..same old.. same old
Its not bad
Its a decent album, but they didn't grow at all. Nothing new on it...it kinda all sounds the same. I think this whole album has about 5 chords played in different time. But its alright. No comparison to Shadow Zone, Machine, or Cannibal
