iTunes Review

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is a concept album set in 2019. My Chemical Romance embodies their alteregos the Killjoys – rocking renegades on a mission to destroy the evil corporation (Better Living Industries) with help from pirate- radio DJ Dr. Death guiding them over the airways. But aside from a plot that loosely borrows from Mad Max, and Vanishing Point, (check the awesome video included with the Deluxe Version), there are some incredibly fun songs here starting with “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na),” which sounds inspired by the Dickies’ 1979 cover of The Banana Splits theme song. “Bulletproof Heart” is all kinds of catchy and it boasts a sweet heavy- metal solo with dueling guitar-monies and a backdrop of futuristic ambience, providing a déjà vu for those old enough to remember the 1983 Styx concept album Kilroy Was Here that birthed “Mr. Roboto.” “Planetary (GO!)” takes a disco detour, delivering a dance-club insta-hit. The hilariously titled “We Don’t Need Another Song About California” makes for an ironic bonus track.

Customer Reviews

Danger Days, Danger this is purely dissapointing.

If you have listened to MCR for more than a couple of weeks, and aren't faking to be a fan of them, you will be dissapointed.. this isn't them, these songs don't have any meaning. I miss the old MCR. Sorry but I hate it when people rave about how great they are now, when I bet 3 months ago you wouldn't have known who they are. Anyways, MCR I hope your next album is back to what it was, I still will support you, but not through this album. =/ I don't like trashing them but ... I don't get what has happened.

they are back!!!!!!

this CD is freakin EPIC!!!!! its worth the longest wait!!!!

DANGER DAYS!!

Well, bottom line, this is an amazing album. The songs all sound different, but the composition of the album nevertheless comes across as flawless. It's the kind of music that will have you cranking the volume way up only to realize that it's hurting your ears before turning it back down; only to crank it again after 30 seconds have passed - all the while spreading a huge grin across your face that threatens to split your very head in two! It's great. My Chemical Romance never fails to bombard the world with a barrage of symphonic, ludicrous and beautiful mayhem with every new album released. Danger Days is no exception. Get ready to be enveloped by one of this genre's greatest achievements to this date.

Biography

Formed: 2001 in Newark, NJ

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. In keeping with the tragic element of the group's best-known singles — including "Helena," "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," and "Welcome to the Black Parade" — My Chemical Romance has roots in catastrophe, as frontman Gerard Way decided to form the band after watching the World Trade Center collapse on September...
