1st Experience
Dark, beautiful and complex. A great blend of rock and electronic. This is my first of her albums. I must say it is much more mature than the sounds of her first album excluding only a few tracks. It expands your music collection, a great album - I recommend it.
Something special here
This is a hard album to describe to most of my friends. My best attempt is an unholy fusion of Tim Burton, Kate Bush and something else wholly undefinable yet familiar, mashed together in a gothic cabaret hall. The music and lyrics contain a dark, whimsical bent, equally charming and somewhat under-the-skin unsettling. If you're looking for "different", you're in the right spot. All the songs are solid, but persoanl faves include "Aegis", "Alibi" and "Worse Things". Extra mention has to go to the cellist, whose playing is hypnotic and enticing on their cover of The Spoons' "Nova Heart". The cello has never sounded more sensual. "Dirty Hands" is easily one of my favourite albums, and is in constant rotation on my playlist.
