Album Review
More slick and less murk is the way Bassnectar delivers his brand of dubstep, shoving genres like hip-hop and breakbeat into a bass-heavy mix. “Stadium dubstep” is the arguable tag for this brand of thump, and on Divergent Spectrum, it reaches a new level of epic, sounding as big as Skrillex blasted by gamma rays with all the trunk rumbling and speaker ripping that would come with. Three of these cuts are remixes done for other artists, including Gogol Bordello, who actually seem to have their “Immigraniada” playfully interrupted by Bassnectar’s dropped-in, zombiestep beats. His take on Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” is much more traditional, borrowing plenty of ideas from the world of trance, while the producer’s original cuts combine Miami bass attitude, show-off studio tricks, and the sound of Kraftwerk being flattened by a steamroller. Good times, but you best warn the neighbors first.

Amazing beats!
Bassnectar is off the hook. This is probably his best cd to date. Even though I do not like singing in my electronic music, Lights is a great song. I would also check out Eric Walker Tangier Dream cd here on itunes. His songs Alien Space, Dreamscape, and Dimension Walker are amazing. If Bassnectar comes in concert near me I am there fo sure because I hear he is even better performing live.

Astonishing
The new Bassnectar album has an amazing selection of beats in their electronic charisma. It almost makes you want to dance. It is overcoming music and I rate it 4 of 5 stars.
