iTunes Review

This London-born singer earns comparisons with past R&B/pop icons on her sophomore album Echo, keeping diva bombast to a minimum in favor of more smoldering, emotionally believable performances. To be sure, there are plenty of stellar producers (including Xenomania and Timbaland) on board to frame Lewis in stylish, high-gloss settings. The steamy “Can’t Breathe,” the throbbing “Fly Here Now” and the epochal “Lost Then Found” (featuring One Republic in seven-plus minutes of uplifting gospel/pop glory) load on the melodrama effectively. But even when she reaches for the Big Note, Lewis radiates honesty and class, as in the aching survivor’s anthem “Happy.” The sleek “Love Letter” and the techno-fueled “Outta My Head” lend some pop sparkle to the proceedings, and for extra celeb content, Justin Timberlake shares vocals on the slow-simmering “Don’t Let Me Down.” Throughout, Lewis shows taste and poise, knowing when to turn up her vocal power and when to hold back.

Sophomore Jinx? HA!

Oh, the second album... The daunting task of creating a second album that stays faithful to the style we've fallen in love with, while moving the artist forward musically, has collapsed the careers of many (Maroon 5, anyone? You know it wasn't good. Stop pretending) Leona has a beautiful, haunting voice that can split a heart in two. On her first album she showcased this immense talent on "Bleeding Love", "Homeless" and the cover of Snow Patrol's "Run" and brought an energetic, emotional disc that surpassed expectations. There was a lot of pressure on her this time around to re-create that magic.
She couldn't.
She refused.
She came back with a stunning, exciting second album that simply blows her debut out of the water. Power, grace, Leona is the whole package, and "Echo" displays that perfectly. Helping produce this album, she spent countless hours in studio, and it paid off. With the help of OneRepubic's Ryan Tedder, among others, the songs come flying off this album. "Echo" boasts a cinematic feel with "Brave" and "Broken" and catchy radio-ready beats with "I Got You" and "Love Letter". Buy this album, it will be one of your favourites. Better yet, go get the Deluxe Edition, "Naked" is a great, fun song, and "Echo: A Reflection of Sound" is an interesting video that show the true devotion, workmanship, and sweetness of this pop superstar.

Hell yeah!

Flawless, amazing, what else can I say? You've outdone yourself YET again Leona. Spectacular.

Fabulous!!!

Absolutely beautiful. It's no wonder I could hardly wait for this album to come out. Leona has surpassed the highest rating here.

This is a must get for the year!
