I dance how this band sounds..horrible.
Being different and creating a new sound does work but you still need to stay within the lines of structured music. Getting to the basics is key for a solid musical core, not going so far out there that you lose touch with music reality. Having a following of people who don't know good music doesn't make you good but rather dumbed down.

Formed in 1999, Still Life Still came together when a group of junior high school friends — who all lived within a couple of blocks of each other in Toronto suburb East York — Aaron Romaniuk, Eric Young, Brendon Saarinen, and Derek Paulin decided to start a band, even though none of them really knew how to play instruments.
