Everything I ever wanted an action movie to sound like

Remember about four or five months ago when a certain film score was coming out and you were all excited because it was being made by one of your absolute favorite electronic music artists? Then it came out, and you liked it but it kind of lacked the punch you were hoping for as it was more of an ambient orchestral thing than a full-on electronic music album? I'm sure my broad allusion is apparent by now, but hey, this isn't that. The score the Chemical Brothers have concocted for "Hanna" is an exceedingly enjoyable, beat-filled masterpiece masquerading as a film score, and it goes alongside last year's "Further" as some of the best music the brothers have ever put out. I applaud them for focusing on what they're good at rather than doing something experimental, as the result sounds absolutely fantastic. I'm sure its great alongside the finished film as well but this is an awesome album with or without the film. I sincerely urge you to purchase it so you can experience the same joys I have just experienced.

The Brothers have worked it out again

This was never going to be another Daft Punk 'Tron: Legacy' soundtrack but then again its a completely different movie genre and to be honest the build up to that left me a bit lacking on the outcome. The Chemical Brothers haven't tried to create a new album so diehard fans may be disappointed but with 'Hanna' they have created sound bytes which feel right at home within the movie. Stand out tracks have to be 'Container Park' and 'Bahnhof Rumble' which have a high octane feel as they build to a climax. The main theme is tranquil and could happily sit on the end of any Chems album. I can relive the feeling I got from the movie but also enjoy the score on its own.
