Given Jerry Seinfeld's longtime popularity, it's surprising that I'm Telling You for the Last Time is his first comedy album; taped during a brief run on Broadway during early August of 1998. The record is the final document of the famous routines which originally shot him to fame on the club circuit — classic material he retired permanently at the conclusion of his tour. While many of the gags will be familiar to anyone who regularly followed Seinfeld's long-running sitcom or saw his countless talk-show appearances, the sheer cleverness of his observations and the mastery of his delivery breathe life into even the oldest riffs; his bits on subjects ranging from air travel to supermarkets to fashion are timeless, and it's a treat to finally have them preserved on disc.
