iTunes Review

Eleven years since their last album, Ratt return with 2010’s Infestation and take hair metal back to the mid-‘80s, even as its members lurk around 50 years old. Close your eyes and it’s the same attack that made 1984’s Out of the Cellar an essential piece of the lite-metal puzzle. Guitarist Robbin Crosby passed in 2002, but singer Stephen Pearcy reunited with Warren DeMartini and Bobby Blotzer and added Quiet Riot’s Carlos Cavazo to the band while writing up tunes that sound like they belong to a band twenty-five years younger. Pearcy’s still a leering, swaggering partyhound with a nose for wild women and DeMartini and Cavazo whip out the twin guitar attack and the vintage solos with the same kick and precision of old. “Eat Me Up Alive” is a metalhead’s anthem. “Look Out Below” features some prime riffage and “Last Call” features the ensemble vocals and deep, cavernous echo that made these guys such a formidable group back in their day.

My God, the boys are back!

I have goosebumps as I type this review! I cannot believe for the life of me that Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini are back.... and I have to say, they are BACK WITH A VENGEANCE! I have written quite a few rock albums myself and everyone who knows me personally knows that Ratt is partially interwoven into my sound.

This is DEFINITELY Ratt, folks! Make no mistakes, this is the Ratt we all grew up with and I have sorely missed all these years. Every single MP3 player I've ever owned has had "Out Of The Cellar" and "Invasion Of Your Privacy" on it, now this new album will be forever included in this list.

If you're looking for something to getcha goin', get your hands in the air pumpin', buy this album!!

What a fantastic album...

Where did they pull that music from? This is just a PHENOMENAL album, raw rockin' Ratt in all its glory. For any RATT fans out there: this is a must buy. For the metal-curious out there, this will give you a good feel for the best that 80's metal bands had to offer. This group marked a generation, filling stadiums around the world with "Ratt'n'Rollers", singing along with the band in deafening harmony! All I can say is: Thanks for getting back together guys!

FINALLY! ROCK

Metallica may have been responsible for taken out glam rock but just maybe glam rock will be taken out Metallica :-)

PS: Ratt sounds more relavent and skilled then lots of the douchebag bands that took them out to begin with.

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Ratt's brash, melodic heavy metal made the Los Angeles quintet one of the most popular rock acts of the mid-'80s. The group had its origins in the '70s group Mickey Ratt, which had evolved into Ratt by 1983; at that time the band featured vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Robbin Crosby, guitarist Warren DeMartini, bassist Juan Croucier, and drummer Bobby Blotzer. The band released its self-titled first album independently in 1983, which led to a major label contract with Atlantic Records. Their...
