Album Review
Jackson Square is the debut full-length from Hamilton, Ontario five-piece outfit Arkells. With a sound built around energetic indie rock mixed with a soulful Southern influence, not unlike early Maroon 5, Arkells made a splash in 2007 with their blazing single "Oh, the Boss Is Coming!" from their debut EP, Deadlines, and a year later Jackson Square continued in the same vein.

Worth your attention
Saw these guys at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver as the opening act for Matt Mays. I was so impressed, I bought their cd right away. You won't regret it. It's a solid effort from beginning to end, with "Ballad of Hugo Chavez" being the most radio-friendly track, I think. Still, there are lots of hooks to be found everywhere on the disk. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on these guys.
Not Surprised .
The first song i heard on the album was deadlines and it absolutly blew me away so when i decided to check into some other Arkells Junk, I wikied them, And was in no way at all surprised that they were Canadian!, Great Songs, Great Albums, Great Band
Great stuff
Saw these guys in Edmonton and loved them! They play an awesome live show. Album is great. These guys are on the way up!
