The originals feel a bit incomplete and stilted at times, lots of stops and starts and very unsure feeling, when it finally hits a groove it feels good. Great version of Sophisticated lady. Rhythm section is not great but the guitarist is really wonderful.
Great solo effort!
I've been a fan of Jordan Officer since his first album with Susie Arioli. This is a quality production from a great entertainer indeed! I do agree with some of the other reviewers however that the original pieces are a little uneven and my favourites are the standards, which are brilliantly executed as usual. The album reminds me a little of Moonglow by Bucky Pizzarelli (if you love this style of music and have never heard that one before, you will love it too!). I can hear Mr. Officer's solo album being listened to for many years to come in this household... Would totally recommend!
