Les années soixante (Remastered)

If you never heard of Gilles Vigneault and "Mon Pays," you didn't grow up in Québec. The poet and balladeer released the song in 1965 and though the lyric celebrates the province’s snow and endless winters, it struck a national chord and became an unofficial anthem. Likewise, the follow-up, "Les gens de mon pays," praises the Québécois talent of staying cheerful and hospitable despite the poverty and harsh landscape. Reissued after 45 years, these early tracks frame Vigneault's proud sentiments in lush orchestral-pop settings.
