Album Review
When Lights released her debut album, The Listening, in 2009, she almost seemed like the female equivalent of Owl City: a young adult performing cute, sparkling electro-pop with the assistance of a few synthesizers and a swarm of MySpace fans. She also co-produced the album, whose lush, layered sound sometimes put more emphasis on the production than the music itself. This acoustic EP takes the opposite approach by dialing back the instruments and focusing on Lights’ voice, presenting each song as if it were written for a coffee shop rather than an arena. Stripped of their production, the five tracks show that Lights is a fairly talented songwriter, and the three selections that also appeared on The Listening still fare well in a stripped-down, back-to-basics format. Bonus: Lights tosses a cover of Rancid’s “Fall Back Down” into the mix, proving that she’s not as innocent as her dreamy pop songs might suggest.

LIGHTS is true talent
LIGHTS is a diamond in the rough with her raw singing talent. This EP shows her true ability to sing and emphasizes her amazing lyrical talent. Any doubters (don't know why people would doubt her talent), can take a look at this EP to see that she doesn't rely on effects like autotune which she is critisized of relying too much on. It's unfortunate there aren't too many genuine artists like LIGHTS with the talent and drive to make good music and isn't in the music industry to gain a quick buck or their 5 seconds of fame. Purchase is well worth it and the reason why I'll have multiple copies.

Lights is amazing. She just showed everyone that she isn't autotune but she is a natural! She has such a sweet and tender voice! I love her songs because they have meaning! She was born with talent... I am so happy for her and how much success she has gotten! Great job Lights on another great EP! Keep up the epic work ;)
