Album Review

Recorded during the same sessions that spawned Between the Beautifuls, Los Manlicious is the heavier counterpart to that mellow album, with a sound that's more aligned with the rock songs on his 2001 debut than any subsequent work. At his label's request, Los Manlicious was released several months after Between the Beautifuls, hitting the U.K. in May 2008 and appearing in Canada later that summer.

Aaaaannd we're back...

Hawk is back. Lover/Fighter style. I love this album. There are a few repeats re-worked (incredibly might I add) from "Between the Beautifuls" (released Jan '08) but they are packaged artistically and perfectly that makes this album one for simply starting at track 1 and letting it play through until silence. Five well deserved stars.

Oops he did it again!

Well Hawksley Workman has indeed produced yet another amazing album which doesn't seem suprising since it came from this talented man. He has come a long way since his single striptease and has developed into a real class romaticiser. When you gonna flower and lonely people are the two seller songs for this album, but for those who haven't heard of Hawksley, piano blink and this city is a drag are two singles that will captivate you as well. He knows how to draw in the audience and secure his place in our hearts, with not only ballads, but with his quirky naure as well. Some would say that he lives up to John Mayer in the style of rock he displays, but for me Hawksley surpasses any expectations on every album and is better than John. Give this album and this talented artist a listen and you will be hooked...i know i am!

Nothing short of phenomenal!

Great album, everyone should download it, old and new fans. I love "It's a Drug" and "Is This What You Call Love?" probably most of all. Seriously, have you not got it yet?

Biography

Born: March 04, 1975 in Canada

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s

The story of Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman is equally compelling whether you take it as fact or fantasy. Workman, who would eventually launch a celebrated career as solo artist and indie rock producer, was born and raised in Bay Lake. From this point on, however, the tale gets somewhat hazy and wholly bizarre, owing in large part to the short, ongoing biography published on his website. Self-styled by the artist himself, it seemed to be a partially invented, quasi-fictional account...
