Love Stories is a smooth and sultry album. DK's velvety-rich voice and treatment of the songs makes them original without straying from their purpose. The best on the album: If It's Over, I'll be Anybody (original), and So Long (It's All Right). The album is perfect for quiet nights. Strange thing is, if you could see this guy live, he brings down the house!!! We need another album that shows this vitality and strength, DK!

DK Ibomeka's debut CD "Love Stories" was released in Canada in June, 2006. DK has enjoyed many reviews for both this CD and his live performances over this time.
Here is a summary of press and media quotes from Canada.
James Reaney, LONDON FREE PRESS:
“The new Canadian crooners such as Michael Buble and Matt Dusk may have the big label deals and the headlines right now. But as soon as enough people hear what (DK) can do with Ray Charles' Hallelujah! I Love Her So -- or the Beatles' Oh Darling -- it won't be long before DK is moving up. ......the best opening set heard in London in a long time."
Jason Anderson, TORONTO LIFE MAGAZINE:
"A fast-rising product of Humber’s jazz program, the Nigerian-Canadian singer displays a rich, supple vocal style on his debut disc, Love Stories (2005), an impressive set of originals and covers—including the Beatles’ R&B vamp “Oh! Darling”."
FOOD & DRINK MAGAZINE:
"DK Ibomeka's soulful jazz mixed with a touch of the blues is utterly beguiling, whether he's singing his own material, Nina Simone's classic "Sugar In My Bowl," or the Beatles' "Oh! Darling." After honing his warm baritone and winning delivery at local clubs, the Toronto-based singer has developed into a performer with true star potential."
NATIONAL POST:
“…the music world is heartily embracing him.”
John Bock , ARTSCAPE MAGAZINE:
“...Ibomeka has a disarmingly comfortable rumble of a voice with a welcome intimacy like no one this side of Barry White. ...Over the 12 tracks here, Ibomeka demonstrates why accolades have followed him since he took to the stage "
Haydain Neale, JACKSOUL:
"That voice of his can kick you in the chest and still melt a roomful of hearts at the same time.. All I can say is make way for DK."
EDMONTON SUN:
“DK's richly emotive voice was the highlight of the evening.”
VUE MAGAZINE:
“I just wanted to sit there and listen to him alone on stage all night... a true performer

John Valenteyn, MAPLE BLUES:
“…a CD that can fit in to almost any taste. You should be hearing this one all over the radio dial.”
Geoff Chapman, TORONTO STAR:
“His voice is big, his range is big — and he is big. ..... but it's not his stature that you'll remember after a performance, but the way he can project a song... he has a fab future ahead of him.”
Robert Reid, THE RECORD (Kitchener, Cambridge And Waterloo):
“Haven't heard of him? Don't worry, you will....Whether covering The Beatles, Ray Charles or Nina
Simone, he makes the songs his own. The Beatles have never sounded as soulful as his version of
Oh Darling."
TORONTO.COM:
“One of the most talked about new voices in Canadian music DK Ibomeka’s strong, smooth jazzy blues style has made him stick out in the crowd.”.
