Fela Kuti channeled through Eno's Bush of Ghosts via hip-hop
This album is simply jaw-droppingly good, and in my opinion Madlib's best by a long shot. It's like a hallucinogenic journey through the Sahel, the Kalahari, the ancient kingdoms of Mali and Ghana, resontaing with afrobeat and pscyhedelic rock via James Brown, but without the need for substances. If Madlib did a 20-CD set of stuff like this I'd snap it up at any price. Yes, it's that good.
