Mellow and soulful, you will find yourself humming along
This is another fantastic collection from Norma MacDonald. It has a perfect "put it on the ipod and chill with a good book" kind of vibe to it. The banjo on "Ages" has a way of getting into your head and refusing to leave. I must admit that one is my favourite on the album. Anyone with a Cape Breton upbringing will definitely relate to "Blackhearts of the Company" as well as "Swollen Sky". Overall, I found "Morning You Wake" to be a perfect mix of melancholy and contentment. If you're looking for a mellow Sunday morning "soundtrack-of-your-life" kind of album, this is a good bet.
