Get down tonight...
A beautiful concoction of dance beats, vocoder, and funky basslines, tossed with a punk sensibility. Everyone should buy (and dance) to this. Fabulous. NB: The recording does a great job of capturing the amazing vibe SOOOO! has onstage - but still doesn't beat a live show. Make sure to catch them if they are appearing near you.
Best dance music of my life
You can't help but get up and dance to this music when you hear it. Definately the best dance music to surface out of Edmonton within recent memory. The in your face lyrics are only complemented by the electro-dance beats. This is shown on 'Forever Indebted', a sad yet satisfyingly happy song. With this many synths. a vocoder, and a cowbell, how can you go wrong?? These are 9 tracks that will be on your 'Top Played' playlist within no time.
Hometown Heroes!
There was a massive writeup in the paper about this electronic/dance band that sprung from the loins of my hometown, Edmonton, AB, Canada. And electronica band? From Edmonton? Imagine my delight when, on a lark, I decided to search for 'em in iTunes - and there they were. These guys have put out an album that is, well, INSANELY GREAT! EVERY track is infectious and fun. And it's CHEAP - nine bucks! This stuff keeps me shuffling my feet on the way to work and back, and I can't seem to get the tunes outta my head while I'm at work. When are you guys playing a gig? I wanna see your stage show! This stuff is GOOOOOD! I hear influences of Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, New Order, Propellerheads, Depeche Mode, Underworld, Fatboy Slim, Leftfield, and many others. This is one talented band, and if they play their cards right, they could be very, very big. Good on ya, S.O.O.O.O.!
