Can't stop listening

The nakedly honest lyrics, sweet and haunting melodies, and the familiar bedroom voice of Leonard back by angelic harmonies leave nothing to desire. Music that speaks to the dusty corners of the soul. Everything we have come to expect from our greatest Candian poet.

Familar but different from the past.

Going Home, Lullaby, Come Healing and Crazy to Love You are my favourite cuts, but they are all good and most are great. Banjo is a "light" Cohen song that is enjoyable to listen to in any mood. What sets this aprt from past offerings is the music is lowkeyed and the background vocal are not soaring. It is all Leonard and his smoky, raspy vocals to soothe the soul. Mr. Cohen, you wonderful genius this will be my favourite release of 2012 for sure.

Serve with a nice full body red wine, alone or with friends...

Melancholy but in a soothing way.

Leonard Cohen's voice only gets richer with age.
