Customer Reviews

in one room with one hour

I first heard of fiest in an off beat Toronto magazine talking about her Paris flavour and Canadian roots. I love a good artist review, and this piece put fiest in a light I just had to digest. The original album of this remix held me in my studio late into the night on the first listen. Her voice a first incredible introduction with 'Let it die'. This mix, an addition that shines 'Right on' with the Jacket photograph and doesn't dissapoint with a number surprises in the beats and tone twists from the original songs, albeit a version Mushaboom that felt like going postal. Needless to say, it's one warm spring evening in April - under the stars in Toronto, with: fiest meets koop meets moby. Love VV MIX.

Dinner and Dancing

With the exception of "Lovertits" which may be unpalatable during a dinner party, Open Season starts with ambient dinner tunes and then transports you to a Paris discotechque. Too many versions of "Mushaboom" but The Postal Service version is the best, and I'm stumped why "Leisure Suite" was not remixed! If you still can't get enough of Let It Die this album is for you. "The Simple Story" with Jane Birkin is jammin'.

Sweet

This is what Let It Die should have been when it was released, the remixes are far better than the actual songs but she's awesome no matter what.

After winning a battle-of-the-bands contest, Placebo (whose members were still in high school) played their first gig opening for the Ramones in 1991, and for the next five years, Feist sharpened her rock & roll ways alongside her bandmates.
