iTunes Review

By the mid-‘70s Led Zeppelin had established themselves as the decade’s megastars. It took nearly two years to follow up Houses of the Holy with this ambitious double album in 1975 that included songs the band had been holding back alongside challenging new material that expanded the band’s musical vocabulary. “Kashmir” is eight and a half minutes of pure middle-eastern tension. “Houses of the Holy,” “Trampled Under Foot,” “Sick Again,”  “Custard Pie” and “The Rover” are prime Jimmy Page derived Led Zeppelin, thick with complex guitar riffs that play against John Bonham’s aggressive sense of timekeeping, making for a band that simultaneously crush and groove. The epic 11-minute “In My Time of Dying” brings the group back to its blues roots with additional funk, while “Boogie With Stu,” “Black Country Woman,” “Down by the Seaside” and the acoustic interlude “Bron-Y-Aur” are among the most relaxed songs in the Zeppelin catalog. “In the Light” is Zeppelin’s idea of a ballad, soft, eerie, soothing with a circuitous instrumental crescendo. A double album that was considered by some to be a slightly bloated affair, Physical Graffiti now stands as a full-angle view of this secretive, enigmatic and legendary band.

THE BEST ALBUM IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND

this is the best led Zeppelin album ever. If you like music buy it.

sweet cd, epic band

awesome. On amazon it is even less to order the whole album

Greatest Double Album of All Time!

This is one Led Zepp album I will never get tired listening to. It's perhaps their most diverse if not most creative album. Unfortunately Kashmir gets the most airplay from this album and although it's a classic it's not the best track on this album. There are so many great tracks on this album like the Rover and Custard Pie. In the Light and In My Tie of Dying are amazing songs and really don't get a lot of airplay compared to most Zeppelin songs. In My Time of Dying is one of the greatest Zeppelin tracks ever IMHO and I never tire of this song. For 14.99 this is a good deal on itunes considering you can easily pay 30 for this album in most music stores. This album is a must have for any Zepp fan. If you've never really listened to Led Zeppelin before (if that's actually humanly possible) this album provide a wide array of the bands talent and musical style.

Led Zeppelin was the definitive heavy metal band. It wasn't just their crushingly loud interpretation of the blues — it was how they incorporated mythology, mysticism, and a variety of other genres (most notably world music and British folk) — into their sound. Led Zeppelin had mystique. They rarely gave interviews, since the music press detested the band. Consequently, the only connection the audience had with the band was through the records and the concerts. More than any other band,...
