"...every heart vibrates to that iron string."
You don’t need to be familiar with the music of Sigur Ros or Kronos Quartet to appreciate this brilliant rendition of ‘Flugufrelsarinn’ (Icelandic for ‘The Fly Freer’.) I admit that Kronos Quartet can be a little jarring at times and I would hate to see that done to a melodic Sigur Ros song. Kronos outdoes themselves and does more than justice to this track: it is utterly beautiful and haunting. A completely mesmerizing listen throughout, it takes some very intense, VERY moving turns midway and towards the end. While deemed “Classical”, your music taste could be situated on either end of the spectrum or hopefully run the gamut; THIS transcends it all and you cannot help but be stunned. What a tribute!
Soul song
Heard them perform this song live with Tanya Tagaq at the Chan Centre ... most emotional and uplifting. Brought tears to my eyes.
Overwhelmingly beautiful.
I was lucky to see and hear Kronos perform this live. One of the most gorgeous works of music ever?
