Have a heart!
Awe come on. Lighten up. Its the disney princesses! You were a kid once too! Not everything we watch or listen to has to be exactly realistic, its nice to just drift off into an imaginary world from time to time, especially for kids. Let them enjoy their disney and be blissfully unaware of some of the horrible things going on in our world. If only for a little while.
Appalling
This album is horrible both in conception and execution. Ariel's Christmas Island? Christmas With My Prince? And why are Pocahontas (a Powhatan), Jasmine (a Muslim), and Mulan (Buddhist) caroling here along with the European princesses? Could it be that they're just here to reinforce that Disney's multiculturalism is the flimsiest of charades? The music is equally offensive: over-produced pop tunes that are differentiated only by the calypso beat here (Really? In the Caspian Sea?) and a harpsichord there (In 17th century Virginia?) No musicianship here; but that might be just so it fits in seamlessly with all the other products in the Princesses Line. These songs do nothing to enrich the Christmases of the little "princesses" who have fallen victim to Disney's ridiculous marketing campaign, in which the ideal of female adulthood spends her days waltzing through the rooms of her spacious palace in a ballgown and sipping tea. Way to promote mindless consumerism in the very young, iTunes. Congratulations on that Disney partnership.
Cool...
