Their best album yet!!!!

I've only heard a few songs song far and clips of others, but enough to buy the whole album without question.

Some strong 60's and 70's influences running through the whole album.
"We are one" , "Work Class Lament" and "Peace" are probably my favs so far.

Rocking this in my ipod!

Enjoy

More classic pop sounds from Skytone!

"Shining Over You" is another finely crafted pop masterpeice from Ottawa, ON's own Darius and Rodney Doddridge. They draw on many different influences from Brit-pop to Reggae while making it all sound very fresh, original and breezy. Their attention to detail and musical perfection is evident in the gorgeous instrumentation and texture that they put into every song. "We Are One" starts the album off with a bang with it's joyful melody and Lennon-esque lyrical hooks. My favourite track by far, it rightfully should be the first single. If this song isn't a hit by the end of the summer, I'll eat my hat! "I Will Follow" is somewhat reminiscent of The Beatles' "And I Love Her" and it's a comfortable familiarity. "Peace" is an amusing ode to every pop singer turned protester. "Rat Race" is a classic track from the Doddridge archives nicely revisited and sonically improved upon. Full of musical surprises and perfect harmonies, Skytone's "Shining Over You" is perfect listening on a warm summer day!

An excellent follow up...Band of Brothers!!!

This album is almost a role reversal for me as I prefer Darius' vocals on this one and liked Rod's on the first one more! The strength of both of their albums is definitely in the telling lyrics, harmonizing and rhythmic and playful guitars and on this one, you will hear some jazz like on the catchy "Rat Race" to flamenco on "I will follow".The top song by far is "Working class lament" followed closely by "Never No Never" which likens Skytone to the Byrds for me or the Mamas and Papas. The "Orwellesque" lyrics on Working class Lament make me want to dive back into that masterpiece. This album was 4 years in the making and well worth the wait!!!

Dynamite!!
