Awesome! Epic!

This is the first new Spoons album in 22 years and it is wonderful! I've listened to it quite a few times now and I can honestly say that it is my favorite album. The songs are beautiful. There's some great variety here...from rocking numbers to techno, and sweet ballads. I think that you should definitely buy this album!

Wow!

What a great return album by the Spoons! This riduculously underated Canadian band really delivers a powerful, complex album after almost 23 years since their last effort, "Vertigo Tango".

All the songs on this album stand on their own. The great opener "Breaking In" could easily be found on their masterpiece "Arias and Symphonies". It has a modern twist, but is still essentially Spoons.

Other great tracks are "Imperfekt", "Star Maps" - a great rocker - and what might be the most catchy song on the album, "Escape With You". Sandy takes the lead vocal on this tune and it is too bad we do not have a few more from her on the album. Sandy's voice is so sultry - it almost sounds like she's singing right to you. A great song and should be a single in my opinion.

"You Light Up" has all the potential to be a great single and "End Of Story" is another great tune penned by Gordon Deppe that easily matches the quality of his earlier work.

The last cut, "Closing Credits" is a great closer - no pun intended:) It almost has a "Trade Winds" sort of feel from it that takes you on a little journey through lifes up's and downs in about 4 minutes. The backing vocals on this song near the end by Sandy are truly remarkable. They really embellish the whole mood of the song.

All in all, being a Spoons fan for quite some time, I'm amazed at this fantastic effort. If you are even a casual listener of this group, you need to download this album now. You will not regret it! :)
