Stripped... lovely no matter what you think she means by it!

This is by far Christina's best album to date. The only reason people say it isn't good is because of her image. If you listen to this album without ever seeing what Christina looks like, you will realize how captivating and riveting this album is. Hip-hop influences on "Can't Hold Us Down", "Get Mine, Get Yours", and the infamous lead-single "Dirrty" keep the album listenable to the impatient, and serve as a contrast to the rest of the album which spans every facet of Christina's personality. The last quarter or so of the album is absolutely astounding and brings in real life experiances into the songs, adding realness and a raw approach the album in general has. Deep confessions and awe-inspiring musical crafts, "Stripped" is as real as real gets and I love it. To put it simply: It is her stripped. Top 3 Songs: 11. "Beautiful" 16. "Dirrty" 4. "Fighter" These are only fractions better than the rest of the album, which are just amazing, but I personally find these the most entertaining and are my personal favorites.

Simply too long

At 20 tracks, the album gets extremely tiring to listen to. You have to work up the patience to find the good songs. After finishing the record, you feel exhausted after almost 80 minutes of over-singing and way too many ballads. Christina has to learn how to keep her albums concise; cutting out at least four of the weakest songs ("Loving Me 4 Me," "Underappreciated," among others) would really help to make the record a much better listening experience. There are some good songs as well, though, including "Dirrty," and the obvious "Beautiful." The closing track "Keep on Singin' My Song," which runs at 6 and half minutes [too] long, tries to capture almost a gospel feel to it (as do many of the songs), mimicking Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey. But at the time of release, Christina was simply too young to have any creative control of an entire album, let alone trying to act way beyond her years and trying too hard to gain credibility as an artist (she was only 20). Leave this one for the die-hards.

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

A leader in the parade of Mickey Mouse Club veterans who stormed pop at the turn of the millennium, Christina Aguilera was the sexy, brassy diva of the bunch — the Rolling Stones to Britney Spears’ Beatles, as it were. Initially, it was difficult to see Christina outside of the prism of Britney, whose 1999 success launched the new millennium's teen pop boom, but Christina’s big hits of 1999 — “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants,” “Come on Over” — more than held their own with...
